Is this odd?
Over the past month I have noticed the more I do the number I get (in my legs). If I stay at home and just lay around I might not have any numbness (sometimes I do) but if I'm out running around (driving NOT running, LOL) than I almost always have numbness in my legs.
Does this happen to anyone else? I don't think it's a getting over heated thing because it's still a bit cold here still. Last month I went numb for the 1st time from my lower ribs and down now 2 times since than I have gone numb from that same point and down (I have had numbness else where) but it would seam like something is up with the numbness stopping at the same point, wouldn't it? |
I guess I can't speak to this anymore, but sure someone who knows will be along soon.
I'll be happy to help when I can  Don't think I'm ignoring you, I'm just out of limbo. Take care and glad to hear your husband is responding in a positive way. |
Mom, have you had an MRI of the spine? I haven't had one either, but my torso is numb on the right side, starting at the bra line and tapering off at the waist. I think I must have a lesion in that area.
As to your numbness getting worse, anytime I do stuff - exercise, standing up for a while, painting the kitchen... I pay for it later. Either with muscle aches and cramps, or with numbness. I feel the best when I've had lots of sleep the day prior. |
This is probably true, no matter what the underlying condition. When I had carpel tunnel (while pregnant only), the more I typed (or used my wrists), the worse the numbness got.
The trick, at this point, is for them to peg the underlying condition, which may be stemming from your spine. Cherie |

Normal, normal?? What's normal?
Hello Mom,
From my experience I would call this "normal". MS is such a weird disease that almost anything that happens could be described as normal (unfortunately). Various body parts of mine trade off being numb. Right now my fingers are playing musical chairs with the numb feeling. This might last for 5 minutes or several hours, but never lasts much longer than that. Just one of the many faces of MS! Dave |
