Dear Befuddled,

I had a quiet weekend.
But now I have to go to put gas in my car for tomorrow and maybe stop at the store.
Hubby is cooking something but he likes to pretend that he needs my help with the buttons on this new-ish stove in our apt.

This was a different weekend.
Decided to join my hubby for a quick trip to austin texas via houston.
THIs was the most spontaneos thing and shocked my hubby that I came along.
Unfortunately we happened to hit houston right at rush hour traffic on friday...that was awful...he drove then.
we stayed the night there after going out to dinner with an old student of his at a great place called chuy's, tex mex restaurant. It was great!
Spent the night in a terrible days inn ( he refused to make reservations part of the experience:rolleyes:.... so we jsut hit and missed with this one)....Then up the next day to go to austin to drop off his guitar that needed work.
then we met up with another one of his prior students after walking around the UT school...it is a beautiful campus and a gorgeous day! Dinner at a steak house and another no reservations night this time unable to find a place to stay and it was midnight before we found a place. another days inn that was much better....
I did not sleep well, we sleep with a fan at night and this unit did not have a fan so kept turing off and on.
WE drove 8 hours today to get back, stopped for a long dinner at cracker barrel...it would have been a 7 hour drive back.
I announced that I was never not having reservations again...he agreed.
His guitar should be finished in a couple of weeks....asked him if he was going to drive back or have it sent back?
He doesn't know yet....
WE came home tonight so gone from 3pm friday to 7pm sunday to find the cat had been locked up in the hall closet the entire time we were gone.
poor kitty!
as you can guess we had to thow away and clean out the closet...poor girl..she needs a bath... I tried to wipe her down...
Hubby left to go watch the rest of the super bowl with some friends and I have been trying to get caught up here.
When we drove back it was my turn to drive thru houston...the traffic was light but still made me nervous.
I was proud of myself for handling everything and being able to go with him.
So that was my exciting weekend!

Bizi

I'm so proud of you. You know I think I'd just tell him that you have
made the decision, and found great places to stay. So you have it all
planned.

Heehee, it wouldn't work with my husband but I would love to try that.

Hi Mari, Barb, Di, Bizi, and Donna.

Mari, some men can be helpless in with woman gadgets like stoves and washers and dryers.

Barb and Di, the Super Bowl was not on my list this weeekend. Hope you two like it.

Bizi, you did do good. I bet your glad to be home though.

Donna, was your walk today?

I went to church today, had lunch out, went to see a friend in the nursing home, and visited a couple of neighbors so my day was nice.

Dear Befuddled,
Yes. http://www.thesmilies.com/smilies/happy/yes.gif
But he cooks and I do the laundry.
You'd think he could figure out the digtal settings. But I'm not complaining. He is a good cook.

Houston

Dear Bizi,
Poor kitty cat. She really needed you to be home!

Houston driving is tough even for people who live there. I think that you both did well.
Was Austin a fun town? I've heard that they have a good music scene.

Some people can turn a radio to static and get the same benefit as from as fan -- not sure that would work.
We sleep with a noise maker http://www.amazon.com/Marpac-980-Scr...2111112&sr=8-1
I would probably take this with me if I went on a trip.

I also bought at CD that sounds like a noise maker. But can't find it. I lost it in my messy apt.
(I live in an amazing apartment. Things go missing for weeks and months. Then they show up again. The CD is around somewhere.)

Thinking about traveling and staying in a hotel make me anxious.
I like my own place with my own stuff around me. Dunno why.

Anyway, I am glad that you had a fun adventure.

Mari
