I've been a gamer since the beginning, but as age gets us....I'm not connected to some of the new systems. The Wii sounds great as dose Play Stations.

My DD will turn 19 on Feb 22 and she loves to go to a friends and play "Dance Revolution"....I need some guidance on which game system to buy her, and it must work with dance revolution. I want to play with her :p

Currently in my home I have Nintendo's cube....

I've been searching the net for the right stuff, but sooooo much out there...Could someone get me up to date????

I'm not a gamer but my daughter & SIL are. They have Playstation2 & Wii.

I think the PS2 plays Dance Revolution & Guitar Hero (another big game). It also plays BlueRay HD DVD's. So, of the two, that's their pick.

I loved playing the Wii with them. It was a lot of fun but my daughter said there are just not enough games out there for it yet.

I hope this helped a little. I bet someone around here that actually plays the games will come around & give you better info. ;)

Thanks...thats what I'm gathering; The PS2 OR 3? Can I still buy the 2? I think I've heard that 3 is not so good....????

The reason I like the idea of the Wii, is that I have game cube and play Zelda, even to this day....and I heard that it is compatiable and will make Zelda interactive....So what I was hoping, is that Dance Revolution has a game for Wii....

We love the Wii. My kids have Gamecube and PS2 and we got them Wii for Christmas. It is the first game system that DH and I play, too. It is a blast. I think our kids are just blown away that mom and dad will play their games with them.

Gamer here, but just computer games. I must say though that the Wii has my curiosity. Just what I need...more games to play in what little free time I have. :winky:

I wanted something to occupy my mind while I would be recovering from major surgery.

Didn't want the Wii b/c I needed something that wouldn't require much physical movement so I got an Xbox 360.

I've enjoyed it and I can play movie videos on it. I think Playstation 3 can play bluray videos.

If you're looking for a fun activity while getting some physical activity the Wii would probably be good.

You can read all kinds of reviews online of all three systems and check out the games that each offer to see which you are more inclined to play.

Consider this.

Playstation2 is the cheaper. Will play DDR, DVD's and Guitar Hero (I developed a controller for that game, hence the mention.) Outdated tech., but still a great system. No HD capabilities. On-line gameplay possisble with adapter. Will not play PS3 games. $129.00 at BB.

Playstation3 is backwards compatable (PS2 gameplay), has a built in Blue-ray player (lets you watch HD movies on your HD TV with movies marked Blue-ray), will connect to Internet for browsing and on-line gameplay. Can download extra game content for play not available on game disc. HD output. Can load and save entire games from disc. Much more. Basic unit $399.00 at BB.

I'd get the PS3 if you have a HD TV, otherwise get the PS2.

I don't know too much about Wii and Gamecube.

Ok J. I just talked to my 2 DDR kids. They have been avid DDR players since it was an arcade game at the mall.

They say that the Xbox 360 is your best bet. They also play Rock Band and Guitar Hero.

They have every game system imaginable. They spend every penny they get on this! :rolleyes::rolleyes: They are 20 and 16 years old boys.

I have to admit that I play Rock Band with them:). I sing only, because I lack the coordination that I used to have. It is a blast, and a great way to do something interactive with your teenagers.
