Romber - Positive?

Would someone knowledgable about this please explain it to me? This is mentioned in my most recent neuro report, Romberg - Positive.

I could not find it in WebMD for a definition.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Well now this makes me not like my neuro even more, he had me stand with my eyes closed to see if I could stay standing, well I don't I fall over right away (I can't even walk well in the dark). Anyway DH asked him if that was OK when we were done with the test and the Dr said "It was fine".

Do most "normal" people fall over right away and are unable to walk in the dark (and I don't mean no light at all dark or even just movie theater dark)?

Thanks Jules, this was exactly what I was looking for. I appreciate you posting the link.

BTW, I fall over immediately eyes open or closed. I can't walk in the dark at all as my feet say one thing and my eyes say another and over I go.

I'm no good in the dark either, "they" say its because we are using our eyes to compensate for our faulty balance center.
