Surgical Associated Arachnoiditis?

Hi there.
I have been dealing with lumbar spine problems for some time but more recently (Late 2006) Very large central L5-S1 herniation with left S1 root impingement. I had a reherniation after left laminectomy discectomy, I then had an Kenalog ESI which gave me no improvement so a bilat laminotomy with discectomy which involved "gently teasing loose the S1 nerveroot from scar tissue" was done. After the second surgery I was told that I am "an anatomical anomaly" as I have "extra" nerve roots. I have a variety of pains everyday, sometimes very debilitating.
I take 800 mg gabapentin and 600 mg ibuprofen tid, 7mg oxycodone q 4 hrs as needed, 1500mg methocarbamol tid as needed and zoloft 50 mg bedtime.
I recently established with a new internal medicine who after reviewing my records of surgeries, radiology reports discussion of the types of pains I have daily, mentioned that I probably have an associated arachnoiditis and I am seeking information on this condition or others who have similar symptoms.

Thank you for any help out there.
