Greetings from Lancaster, home of the "Fighting Amish"

Hi All,
A little play on Notre Dame in the subject. I'm here for tips on how to handle what's going on with me. I have pretty severe diabetic neuropathy, and my central nervous system is getting strange. I'll browse the forum topics.

My DR just filled out paperwork listing me as permanently and totally disabled, however, from what I've been told so far SSI and SSDI sounds like a nightmare.

So... I'm reaching out trying to connect with others in similar situations.

Welcome to Neurotalk.

Isn't your area also home to a fairly famous ice cream company? :p

I'm sorry to hear about your situation. Can you tell us--maybe over at the peripehral neuropathy forum--your hsitory, symptoms, testing, etc.? Do your physicians think your central as well as peripheral nervous system situations are blood-sugar related? (A lot of us over ther are "co-morbid"--and have had to deal with issues of disability--Social Security and otherwise.)

Oh my, you have a GREAT farmer's market!! I'm so entirely jealous of you.

Welcome to NeuroTalk. I'm fairly new here, but so far I can tell you it's a great place to be. Lots of nice people.

Diabetic neuropathy's fun from what I hear. I'll stick with MS and/or Transverse Myelitis and possibly neuropathy in addition. Hey, if you gotta have something my theory is that at least you should take an ownership interest in it. :D

Poke around and have fun.
