Flower Truck Catches Fire Today
I work part time for a florist here in Boise during holidays. Today, there was an unfortunate accident involving a flower delivery truck bound for eastern Idaho from Boise.
It was loaded with roses. About $50,000 wholesale value of roses for Valentine's Day orders. We got about 50 calls about the disaster. We knew the florists in eastern Idaho who were the unfortunate recipients of the flamed roses. It was sad. The wholesaler was on the phone immediately calling his clients and making good on the lost orders and before the end of the day, a new shipment was already on its way to the florists. A faulty refrigeration unit was to blame for the torching of the roses in the truck. Will Boise itself suffer financial loss because of the fire, do you think? |
I hope they can replace the roses. If not, I hope the receipients of those roses are understanding!

 i hope any man that reads this, doesn't use it as his excuse.
namely...my husband. |
Yikers Cheryl~ I have already told my DH not to buy me flowers or chocolate. Neither one seem to last very long around me..
my bad~ |
Wow Cheryl that was really a tragedy.
I went to the link you provided for the rest of the story. Saw a link about The Mystery Box with Valentines from Grandma. That is sad. The grandkids now won't get their valentines from grandma. I hope if someone reads the story the two names that were written on the cards they will know who they are. This world is really headed in the wrong direction. It is a little scary how things are changing it seems more for the worst. Hope you have a Happy Valentine Day  Jappy |
Poor flowers! That was lots to replace in a short time!

As for the flowers, it did have snowball effect on the industry. Along with that the tornades in Memphis and the cold weather froze the makeup delivery of our roses and we didn't get our delivery on Wed/Thursday as we were told by our supplier. We did have other roses, just not all the pretty big red ones that everyone likes. We had yellow, white, lavender, pink..and lots of carnations. It was a very interesting Valentine's Day It's interesting how rude people can be and how much they DON'T LISTEN TO THE NEWS and know what's going on in the world around them. |
