Advise on broken screw
Hi everyone!
I would appreciate if you give me some advise on this. I had a surgery 4 years ago fixing L5. The diagnosis was "Spondylolysis L5 bilateralis; Spondylolisthesis L5-S1"(I hope I'm explaining it right, because I'm not very good in english and medical terminology). The doctor said I'd be able to go skiing in an year... But on the exam six months later one of the screws was already broken and the vertebra slipping again. Different docs said different things, noone explained what my condition means, only a few specialists in my country, and I don't quite trusted them any more.So I gave up and tried to go on doing nothing about that. But my life was far from what I need, got severely depressed... So what a broken screw means? What I can and can't? Shoud iI do something about it? Thanks in advanse for your answers :) |
Sorry, I can'd give you any advice, but I can tell you what these medical words mean. Spondlolsis, is a spinal disorder in wihch the arch of the 5 th vertebra consists of soft fibrous tissue instead of normal bone. Spondylolisthesis is a (forward) or(backward) of L5 over S1 in your case. Does your Dr. want to do surgery? I would just ask, if I were you. If you are in a lot of pain, this is probably why. I am not a doctor, so I can't tell you.
Good Luck and keep us informed. Fancylady |
