Insomnia sucks.

and not in a good way that gives you warm fuzzies all over.

I am so hoping that the (1) baclofen I just took will allow me to sleep tonight.

My brain hurts. My eyes hurt (and they keep watering) and my whole body is wondering why me and my brain arent in bed attempting to sleep yet.

Why cant I sleep?!?!? :thud::Sob:

I'm so sorry you can't sleep, Erin. I take 100 mg of Trazodone every night. It has been a life saver for me and my sister as well. It's a very old antidepressant that doctors mainly prescribe for insomnia. It's not addictive like some sleep aids. Maybe you can talk to your doc about it? I don't feel groggy in the am (except for the first two days when I started it). My doctor adjusted the dosage until it was just right for me. Not sleeping is HORRIBLE. Argh! I hope you get some relief soon.

I really feel for you, I haven't sleep well in 3 nights, I always have a hard time falling asleep and sometimes staying asleep but the last 3 nights have been awful.
I even take 2 supplements and Rozerem every night to help me sleep.

I too have used trazadone in the past for just this reason. I found it
so helpful. I remember I was able to wake up with the baby and
go right back to sleep after. It really was the best sleep I have ever
had, with no side effects.:)

If this keeeps up you might want to ask your doc about Trazadone.

I go through this off and on. I have been to the point where I can take Benadryl and not be able to sleep and that stuff usually puts me into a coma.

I typically take 2 - 4 Baclofen at night and they don't make me drowsy anymore at all, so that doesn't help me. Of course, I take them throughout the day, too. I hope that the Baclofen you took will help you sleep.

I finally got frustrated with it and asked my PCP to help me and he said "no more drugs for you"! He didn't want to combine it with the Provigil and the amount of Baclofen I'm taking.

Hopefully, this is isolated for you. If it continues to be a problem call your PCP or neuro and hopefully, they will be able to help you.

:( Insomnia sucks tell me about !!! I haven't felt tired at bedtime in about a month now and I've been taking over the counter sleeping pills so I'll get tired and fall asleep. I'm getting worried this could be a serious problem or something and I know I should probably make a doctor appt with my PCP I just don't feel like hearing something bad like you might have a lesion on your part of the brain that controls the sleep cycle or something like that. That's what scaries the crap out of me or it could just be stress.

you know, back in december when I first starting having big problems sleeping, my regular doctor did give me a Rx for Trazodone.

I took it to the pharmacy, paid for the Rx, but I've never taken any of it. (not sure why I'm scared to take it)

So, maybe, if I have trouble again tonight, I might try it. (I'll break it in half, I dont like taking sleeping pills full strength)

I did fall asleep after taking the baclofen last night. I'd been trying for a few hours before I took the baclofen. I have been trying to not take baclofen because it does make me feel a little weird in the morning...seems like it makes my vision a little blurry. I think it helped the pain in my left shoulder (pulled something when I had to use crutches after hurting my knee a few weeks ago)

I was talking to my boyfriend last night, and he thinks I've got insomnia because I havent been doing enough stuff during the day to make myself tired at night. It's too cold to go outside and take a walk.

I'll just have to figure out a way to exercise that will make me tired and not make my knee sore right away. (starting PT for my knee on monday)

I managed to sleep at least 6hrs last night. It wasnt continuous sleep. I kept waking up and would be awake at least a half hour every time I woke up, but at least this morning I feel like I got a little sleep. (and I got up for the day before noon for once) I'm still really tired tho.

i've had a sleep disorder for a long time, associated with my fibromyalgia.
it was documented on a sleep study.

i'm on trazodone and have been for a long time. it's an AD but does make you sleepy. it works great and i havn't had any SE's. it's been around a long time and should be a safe drug. can't hurt to try it. how much did your dr tell you to take? probably 50-100mg?

i've also taken something like tylenol pm. it's main ingredient is benadryl 25mg/tab. however, after a while it didn't work for me anymore.

but since your dr Rx'd the trazodone i'd try that and ask about something else if it doesn't work.

sleep deprivation is awful. i know.

If I dont fall asleep within 45 minutes after I lay down, I'll probably try the Trazodone tonight. I've just been trying not to get started on sleep meds.

I had a bit of a problem with OTC sleep meds back around the turn of the century (2000) I'd been taking OTC sleep meds to sleep for a few years, and they quit working on me. So, I started trying other stuff...like Nyquil Liquicaps (not the liquid) and that worked for awhile. I finally gave that stuff up around September 11th because I think taking cold medicine to sleep was making me a bit...weird...grumpy...a lot anxious.

I've had problems with insomnia since at least the early 90's. It's a bit maddening at times. At least I havent had to work at a regular job for awhile, so I dont have to worry about getting up on time, but I would love to get back to a regular sleep cycle before I have to start going back to school.
