Student missing
It's so, so sad. A 19-year-old young man, a Middlebury College student, is missing. Hasn't been seen for ten days. He was last seen at a party about 1/3 mile from his dorm. His jacket, laptop, other items are in his dorm room and his cell phone has not been used. His Mom is here from New Mexico.
What's even sadder than this poor mother looking for her son, is the people who have NO CLUE making comments like "He was probably drunk" or "His friends probably know where he is but they aren't saying." I could just slap them. This young man is (Please God, not "was") a good student, a NON-party-er who was only at this "party" for about twenty minutes. No history of mental issues or trouble with the law. Lots of friends. Called or emailed his mom every day. A total mystery. My heart is breaking for his family, and I am praying that this will have a happy ending--though I can't fathom what it could be. |
Prayers heading there way.

I'm so sorry B2U.
I'm thinking of you all and hope this young man will soon be found. :grouphug: |
How awful. Let's hope this has a happy ending and they find him soon.
Praying for him and his family. |
Oh, how awful that he's missing. He and his family will be in my prayers.

Oh man, 10 days? Not cool. Praying for him and his family right now.

OMG I just hate hearing stories like that. I can not even fathom thoughts of one of my children missing. I would be absolutely out of my mind.
His poor family must be going crazy not knowing where he is. My prayers go out to the family of this young boy.:icon_cry: |
I just hate hearing things like this - I cannot imagine going 24 hours without speaking to both of my kids let alone 10 days of not knowing if they are OK or not. I can't even wrap my mind around it - I'd be going crazy with worry. I'm praying for his safe return.

any news today B2U?

It's sad to me that he would be discounted if he was actually drinking at the party. To me, it doesn't matter if he was a so-called partier. A lot of college students are. It wouldn't minimize his parent's pain. I seriously doubt that his being drunk would make any difference to them. I know it would make me very upset if people did this to one of my boys.
Drinking at a party wouldn't make it any less likely that something could have happened to him. People are just so quick to judge.:( |
