Can't "Go"??

O.K., I know this is going to sound weird, but I'm just wondering if any one else has ever had this happen.

And just a little background info...I think I'm starting a flair, so I probably shouldn't be suprised at any weird thing that happens right now.

Anyway...I'm having problems going...uhem...going...ehr...poop.

O.K., now that I've said it, I think I can talk about it now.

I get the feeling I have to go. I try to go...and very little comes out. It's not that I'm constipated. It's almost like I can't coordinate things to push it out. I find that I go a little bit 6 or so times per day, instead of once. And I always feel like I have to go.

Even though I don't think I'm constipated, I decided to challenge that by taking my daughter's miralax everyday for the last 4 days.

Well, I got to the point where I was having extreme stomache gurgling, some cramping and diarhea but only just a small amount came out...but still I went many times per day.

I'm assuming that the muscle coordination problem is part of the flair??? Or am I just crazy (that is really a distinct possibility).

I'm just wondering if anyone has had anything like this before. I've had bladder problems with my flairs, but never bowel problems.

Do you have anything to help with muscle spasms? Sometimes it's a matter of relaxing those muscles that allow the poo to come out.

I have Klonopin which I find helpful for that.

Victorya........
Same thing goin on here girl......
I do have cronic constapation but "this" is different.............
I had saw a commerical for PLUMSMART.........its from the company sunsweet...the makers of the prune juice lol....
I have been on it now for a weekend and this am I was woke up from my sleep with the urge to "GO"..........I dont know if that has ever happend before....the urge "waking" me up?
Dont know if its good or bad thing...if it was just "time" or if the juice helped.....might get some and try it....

I DO AGREE WITH SNOPPDOGGIE GIRL.....

The relaxing of the colon is very key......might ask the dr....and be careful of overdoing with laxitives and fiber intake....can cause a whole nother set of problems....and pain is involved!!!!

I've never had the exact problem you're describing but I do know that my disease definitely affects the muscles in the lower GI track. I have to take three stool softener/laxatives a day to stay somewhat regular. With MS the GI track slows down thus leading to the maximum absorbion of water and constipation.

Your situation sounds more like a lack of coordinated muscle activity and spasms. The suggestion of taking a muscle relaxant, i.e. Klonopin/Clorazepam, might not be a bad idea. I would also suggest a strong laxative suppository for results within 30 minutes. It works primarily on the lower GI track muscles and will hopefully clean you out.

Also try some hot Camomile tea as this may help your muscles relax.

Don't be embarrassed about bringing a serious subject like this up as it is something many many of us deal with on a daily basis. You are NOT alone.

sometimes MS is literally a pain in the *ss.

I haven't yet had the difficulty going.

only (alas!) the opposite, of unintentional going.

and a lot of "urgency" going on as well.

hugs, to Victorya, and hope it "goes" away soon.

I could have written your post, girl. I've had this problem on and off for years. I am literally amazed when I have a normal BM. I attribute it to muscle coordination issues.

I have this problem from time to time but I just thought it was part of my IBS. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...y/dontknow.gif

Now that I'm some what numb I don't even have good warning sings it's times to go. I get tingles most of the time before hand but some times no real warning it time to go.

Call your doctor. I too was having this problem and they recommended certain medicines which I could get OTC...but get their advice, before using any of them!

After I used the medicines, I had to up my fiber to an unreal degree!

It eventually passed, and I hope yours will too.
