Anyone here with Chemical exposure?

I have several problems, including periphial neuropathy. Just wondering if anyone in here has dealt with this. I have the neuor-stimulator implaneted and Hey! it works.but lately I have developed the problem in my hand's. Just numbness and tingling..no pain. I hope I can keep that way. I play drum's just to keep my head right. I have been classified permanantly disabled. I hate saying that. Is there something I can do to hlep stave off any further progression?
I am so glad I found this site. I knew that there must be another place that had more info that my local doc's have. I live in a smaller town in SC. It really bothers me that I am having memory loss. Just plain scary. It's the thing that could make me more of a burden to my family. My problems have already been a heavy strain on a really good marriage.

Thanks again
Kithitter:D

dear kitthitter~

Welcome to Neurotalk!

you are having numbness and tingling in your hands - I see you live in S.C.
I used to live in VA. Beach, it is beautiful in the southern states...
do you live around any plants that make electricity?
trains that bring coal to these plants - coal makes a toxin - that could
be part of the problem -do you drink tap water?
have you hurt your neck - or your lower back hurts?
you may wish to see a neurologist...

keep on researching and you will help yourself know more about the body for you are only the ghost that runs the mud body - however -
if you have a feeling something is making you ill, your body is trying to tell you something - pain is a signal -numbness a signal... the body needs
help to get back to heal and it can - but you must find out first if you are toxic, - and you need to drink clean water, not tap water... it is full of toxins

Het CT,
I know what chemicals have been making me sick. I inhaled them while I was fighting a fire at a marble processing plant. Along with the neuropathy, I also have hyper-coagulation problems and only 40% lung capacity. So I get to battle a few thing's. We all have battle's to fight though ,HUH?

You should get good advice from others here dealing with PN. Only thing is, since yours came from a known source that is probably different than the normal (but who knows what normal is, right?) it may react and progress in a different manner.

I'm kind of in a similar boat - I have sm, and no docs in sight who have ever treated a person with it, not sure what caused it.

What applies to other peole who have it may not apply to me (or so I tell myself) and I take that positively. I mean, I tell myself *I'm pretty lucky, to have it the way I have it. Mine's not as bad, and it's not gonna get as bad*. Which may be true or just wishful thinking - but keeping happy thoughts does help, either way.

Taking good care of yourself has got to come first - even if you didn't have health problems, it staves them off. It could stave off more of them too.

And if I were you, I'd probably read up, find out what I could about PN and being exposed to toxic stuff (I should do that too, cuz heaven only knows what I've been exposed to) and see what you can do to help cleanse your system.

The human body is amazingly good at repairing itself, given the chance. You make new cells all the time. The better you eat, exercise, and all that jazz - even the better your mood - the better cells you can make.

And maybe it won't help. But it sure can't hurt.

And hey, a drummer huh? Cool. I play guitar.
