ON Again !

According to my records, this will be my 22nd episode of ON in the last nine years.
I'm scheduled to have a Kenelog injection in my right eye this Monday..DRATS...my doc. is out of town until then. He's the only one I trust to do this. I do have another doc. that could do it (even today if I called.)

Did I mention that I'm blind in my left eye? I lost the vision 10 years ago, it was my first SX of MS.

I have the most relentless, visious ON. My body is heck bent on ruining my vision. It will just NOT go away for longer than three months.
I find it ironic that my wife and I make eyeglasses for a living. On the lighter side note, I do have immediate access to the best eye Docs in town.

Out of all my SX's, I find losing my vison the worst, even more so than the pain I feel.

Anywhoo, here comes the needle...it's kinda like outta the twilight zone. It's really creepy to have done, but it's really not that bad.

I'm just REALLY tird of it all.

That sucks, James - and, OUCH!

Twenty-two episodes of ON!?!?!?

Holy carp!

I think I'm only on my third (going to the eye doctor to find out in about a half hour...hopefully it's just eyestrain)

22 eps of ON in 9yrs...that's about 2 1/2 episodes of ON a year. (did the math, it was 2.4 with a long string of "4's" repeating on my calculator)

I'm getting really anxious for the scientists to hurry up and develop the Star Trek healing gizmo thingamajig that will cure MS someday.

Twenty two episodes of ON OMG I feel for you James believe me . I've had only one episode of ON this was my first symptom of MS.

Koala77 02-19-2008 05:42 PM

Sorry to hear you're going throught this.

I've had ON about 7 or 8 times.........nowhere near the number of times you've been "hit"and I do understand how precious that right eye is to you. My DH is blind in one eye (from birth) so that one and only seeing eye is rather special to us both.

I'd be terrified of a needle into my eyes, but if it meant saving my vision or not, I'd be having one just like you.

Get well soon Jamesnns.

James,

I am sorry to hear about this....I hope the shot helps you. Sounds awful though....

I have to agree with you about your eyesight....the thought of being blind is scary to me.

I hope all goes well. Let us know.

NurseNancy 02-19-2008 11:44 PM

james,

that is downright awful.
i'm sorry that your MS is targeting your eyes.

here's hoping the injection goes well and will extend your vision.

Thanks for the kind replies.

Monday can't get here soon enough. My vision is getting worse by the day and I feel/hope that my vision will recover. There's always that chance that when the damage is done...it's done.(Like my left eye)

Althougn my vision is bearable with high magnification lenses, I'd hate to have this vision permanatley. Everything takes soo long to do...I have to be within inches of what I'm looking at..and that's with +7.00 lenses...LOL.

Anywhoo Thanks again.

James, so sorry to hear this! 22 TIMES!!!!! Wow.

I wish you a recovery as speedy as it can be with ON, and with no lasting damage.

Gee James that more than sux! I hope everything goes well on Monday. I agree with you about the losing vision being the worst sx. After being dx for 3 years I had my first bout of ON & it was enough to get my butt back on a DMD after being off for over 8 months. Here's a great big  and I'll be thinking about you come Monday.
