Those that have a LP report?
Would you try this? Fill out the info in the boxes (in the link below) and see if the CSF IgG Index number that comes up at the top matches the CSF IgG Index number on your report. Mine did not. :Scratch-Head:

Here's mine, but my report says my CSF IgG Index is 0.5 (normal 0.0 - 0.7).
CSF IgG Index: 1 15 CSF Albumin (mg/dL) 1.4 CSF IgG (mg/dL) 40000 Serum Albumin (mg/dL) 742 Serum IgG (mg/dL) |
Mine comes out 1 also, BUT different labs use different values/scales/ratios, not sure of the terms I need, but we really can't feed our numbers in without more info...apples and oranges type thing.
For instance, your CSF IgG Index is 0.5 (normal 0.0 - 0.7), my CSF IgG Index was 0.76 (normal 0 - 0.85) given your labs "normal" mine would have been just a shade HIGH, but by the standards of the lab doing my workup, mine was still within normal range. The link you posted seemingly presents yet a third range and value, not necessarily related to either of our labs standards. I'm so tired, I just hope I'm making some sort of sense. :) |

Well the point wasn't about the labs "normals" it was this link came up with a different CSF IgG Index number than what my report says I got. And the page tells you everything is in "mg" so if your labs isn't the same you can Google what it would be in "mg" and than put that number in. |
My point was primarily that we don't know how they are calculating it, that different labs do it differently.
Who knows I could well be wrong. If so, my report was wrong also, cause the link gave me a 1 as well. ;) |
That program seems to round to the nearest whole number, as I tried various combinations and it always came up a whole number.
.3 - .7 is "normal", but any number higher then .5 is going to round to 1 (perhaps even numbers lower then .5...?). You may end up being dx with MS at some time, MX7, but not based on the results they have right now. I really don't think they would purposely lie and tell you something is normal when it is not . . . Cherie |

MX7 - Hang in there. An abnormal LP could be caused by many different conditions. It is not a tell all for MS. Trust the lab and accept the values of your CSF. |
