How do I pick a new neuro?

OK, I didn't do good last time so I want help on this one. There are 4 neuro's that take my insurance and privileges at a hospital that has a 3.0 Tesla MRI. All 4 say Specialties: Neurology (Primary), For the life of me I can find one that says Specialties - MS. But all 4 have MS listed under there "Clinical Interests" as well as a BUNCH of other things.

Julie, where in Texas are you? Also, you can call the NMSS for referrals.

DFW area but I don't do well with the stress of driving into Dallas alone. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2.../12baghead.gif
I was a little off on were I told you that 3.0 MRI was, it's in downtown Ft. Worth. Still not too far from me.

You could call all four offices, and ask! Tell them you suspect MS and are looking for someone who is comfortable and experienced with this. It's worth a try :)

I don't know all the nuances but apparently there are some good lower machines -- a radiologist explained that it's not just about the Tesla.

I have seen some people from your area post who are very fond of their specialist.

:Scratch-Head: You know every one, I still have a gut feeling about the Dr I saw in the ER that night I when in 1/2 numb. He even talked to my DH on the phone the night my eye acted up about my eye, he was the one that told us we should go to the ER and have it looked at and told my DH than I might have MS based on what he saw that night in the ER and my SX and the eye acting up.

Here is his web site,
http://southlakeneurology.com/default.aspx
One of the 1st things listed on his site is MS.

LOL, I just looked up that Dr I was going to see for the 2nd opinion and he has listed,

Medical conditions, procedures, and areas of interest treated:
Headaches
Movement Disorders
Multiple Sclerosis
Muscle Problems
Parkinson's Disease

Sounds good, all the other neuro's list about 20-30 things. And the lady that told me about him said he really listens to you and cares.

OH LORD, someone make me an appointment with any neuro! http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...ky/33angry.gif

OK, better now. I'm worried I'm going to pick the wrong Dr again.

I'm usually very good about making decisions. http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k2...paperbag-1.gif
