WOW anyone see that landing

The pilot of that AA airplane did an amazing job getting those people on the ground. Thank God! That must have been scary.

shhh...not so loud. grandmonkey is sleeping.

i'll turn the news back on, on my computer. sad..earlier a motorcyle cop from the clinton motorcade crashed and died here in dallas. so i turned it off. i don't have the news onthe tv. i don't like the kids to watch it.

watsonsh 02-22-2008 03:50 PM

*whispering*

AA Flight 862 was on the way to Chicago and they could not get the nose gear up so they had to emergency land at Miami. Had to fly around and dump fuel and land not knowing the nose gear would hold up or not.

It was a beautiful textbook landing.

Curious 02-22-2008 03:51 PM

wow. yep. i'll have to watch the video of that. :D

watsonsh 02-22-2008 03:53 PM

Cant even imagine circling for 2 hours and then try to land not knowing if you would be ok.

A couple years back same thing happened out here to a Jet Blue flight. That airline has CNN on board and all the passengers watched on TV as the media talked about whether they would make it or not.

*oops sorry forgot to whisper*

Oh just read it. So sad abou that motorcycle cop.

Curious 02-22-2008 04:00 PM

ty.

poor kid was afraid to fall alseep.

when they were told about good hygene to stop the spread of germs and to help keep the kids from getting the flu...someone ( not sure who) told the group that you can die from the flu. :(

so he was afraid so fall asleep and die. :(

i have expained it to him and emailed the school. they need to know that dying is what atleast this one kid got out of the talk.

i think i remember seeing that story. freaky.

watsonsh 02-22-2008 04:07 PM

OMG that pood kid. So glad you wrote the school that is soooo wrong.

Wats and Dotson will protect him :p

Curious 02-22-2008 04:12 PM

I watched that landing... I'm glad I wasn't on the plane... I would have wanted to jump after about 20 minutes of circling...

I am not a patient flyer!!!

I will say the landing appeared to be picture perfect... Kudos to the pilot, crew, and all those involved in keeping those passengers safe!

I really would like to knock the head of the person who told a bunch of little ones they could die from the flu!!!!! That's not something that a little one needs to hear. They should know that they need to wash their hands, cough into their elbow, things to prevent the flu from spreading... but NEVER that they could die from that!!!

BIG Hugs to the grand-monkey!! How scary!!!
