My dear SIL has cancer.

My sister-in-law, who happens to be a wonderful person, was diagnosed with cancer yesterday. She'd been having some symptoms that lead her to need a hysterectomy, she didn't give me the details of them though.

Turns out she had fallopian tube cancer, but the doctor told her he thinks he got it all out. I've been researching this rare form of cancer though, and it seems that 90% of cases have mestastisized from somewhere else. :( After she starts healing from the surgery, she has to go for more tests and a CAT scan. She said her doctor will discuss further treatments with her as well.

This is the SIL who cared for her husband for six years as he battled lymphoma. He even went through a stem cell treatment that gave him about 6-8 additional months. He died a year ago and it was very hard for her to deal with his passing.

She has an adult son who's mentally disabled and living at home. He works, but he isn't really capable of taking care of himself (he's autistic).
I hope and pray she ends up being in the 10% that has isolated fallopian cancer.

Oh Wiz. I'm so very sorry to hear about your S-I-L.

I too hope the cancer is fully contained in the tube. She's been through enough already, and sure doesn't need this.

Thinking of you both.

Oh no!

I am so sorry to hear that. Especially since she has been through so much already and now this!

Please tell her we are all praying for her.

God Bless you all.

Janie

Oh, Wiz. I'm sorry to learn this, it's always a hard walk when one faces cancer, from every persective. I'll pray for her, for you, and for the whole family. As Anne said, let's hope it's something she can overcome and resume her life.

Thanks guys,

She just sent me an email saying she's feeling pretty good and that she's ready for whatever God has in store for her. She's trying to reassure me. She knows how worried I am for her. I feel so blessed to have her in our family. I'm afraid to call her on the phone because I don't know if I can keep my composure.

I'm sorry to hear this, Wiz, I do hope and pray that you SIL is in the lucky 10%. Fate says that she deserves, at least, that.
