looking for non-addictive pain killers
Hi I am new here and I am looking for some non addictive pain killers that will not knock me out. The radiologist findings is ...
(The C5-6 space is severely narrowed. Large right C5-6 uncovertebral osteophytes result in severe neural foraminal stenosis. No further significant degenerative change.) Possibly due to my osteo arthritis. I am in a lot of pain for the last 3 weeks and have to run after a 3 year old so I was wondering if anyone out there would know of any pain killers that are not habit forming and would not make me drowsy. I APPRECIATE ANY INPUT AT ALL SINCE THIS IS ALL |
Have you tried Lidoderm patches?

welcome to NeuroTalk, nanamook:)
my husband was just prescribed those Lidoderm's today mrsD and the relief was almost instantaneous. He has been in severe pain of lower back/hip/leg injury. hope you find help with your pain, nanamook Cheri |
That's great that they are working!
You may find that 1/2 patch works just as well.
Once he is stablized on them, try cutting in half... you save money That way. Since the pain is only on one side it may work. Sometimes after 14 days or so, the pain may shut off. So watch for changes. (I had this reaction). |
Welcome, Nanamook!
I've never tried the lidoderm patches, but at one point I was prescribed a med called ultracet. The name sounds like a narcotic, but it's not. And the doc told me that it was very effective for some people. It didn't work well for me personally, but I know peope who say it works great for them. Good luck with finding whichever med helps you the most! :)
