i wonder if sun is bad for phn

My mom had shingles and was told not to put heat on it. I'm saying as in heating pad. She was not warned against sunshine though. And she was out every day, no harm for her.

I would say if the sun seems to make it worse for you, then you'd know. If you live in a really hot climate it would make you more easily affected, but we had some 90+ days.

On the safe side, ask your doc.

My DH was lucky enough to not to get PHN following a bout of shingles a few years ago. We're lucky I guess, in that we were fully aware of the first signs and symptoms of the disease.

DH was at the doctor, and had taken his first anti viral capsule within an hour or two of that very first blister appearing.

I think the life of the disease was actually shortened for him by getting straight onto the medication, and he certainly didn't suffer any post neuralgic pain....thank goodness. I've heard that other people have had the most awful time with PHN pain.

i was so stupid then and was afraid to take the predisone

what a fool i was
im in 3% that have it for long time

i wonder if it means immune system is bad off or its just there in that one spot that affects nerves

i can still see but docor says i have scarring in eye
