Back from the Dr. again
We just returned from seeing the Infectious Disease specialist who ordered a C-T Scan of my chest. It still looks like Pneumonia, so he has started me on home IV antibiotics with Ceftriaxone for 5 days, and then I will see him again. I honestly didn't realise that I was this sick. I was extremely tired, but I thought that was from being sick for SO long. I still have to take the breathing treatments, and they gave me some IV fluids at the outpatient department because he felt that I was a tad dehydrated.:o
We're waiting on the home health company to bring out the IV antibiotics. They started my IV at the outpatient department, and hopefully, it will last for 5 days (it has to come out after that anyway). So, this is a last ditch effort before they admit me to hospital. If you have any prayers or good thoughts left, I could use them now. I really don't want to be a patient in hospital.:o You know what they say.....Nurses and medical personnel make the worst patients, and I know I am not an exception. Thanks for all of your thoughts and caring this week. I'm going back to bed, it's been an exhausting day. I shall check back with you over the weekend or when I am awake. Have a lovely weekend, you lot! All the best, Chris |

Chris,
Good grief!! What an ordeal! I hope the IV antibiotics do what they are supposed to and you're better real soon. Sounds like you've had your fair share of being sick - it's time to get well! I'm not that far from you - if there is anything I can do for you please let me know. I can grocery shop, make a run to the pharmacy, cook a meal, just anything - I'm willing to help!! I'm going to PM you my phone number so you'll have it if you need it. Take care - and hope you feel better soon! |
Aw Chris, I do hope you feel better and that the antibiotics work. And, of course I have room for more prayers for you.
Words of encouragement: When DDs were 18 months and 2 1/2 I got pneumonia and pleursy. I am a single mom and the doctor knew that I didn't have anyone close by to help me with DDs so he gave me a shot of antibiotics and a round of oral antibiotics to take over the weekend. If there was no improvement they would have admitted me. If I improved then I was to continue on the antibiotics he prescribed (don't remember what they were as it was so long ago.) My mom drove up (a few hours away) to my house to made sure I was well enough to make the trip back to her house, which I was, and took us there so that I could rest and she could take care of DDs. It worked!!! YEAH! I spent a week at my parents healing and I didn't have to go to the hospital. Hang in there! I'll be praying for you. |
Oh dear! I'm so sorry you are that sick! I will keep you in my prayers. Take care of yourself.
