Parkinsonsim

Parkinsonism is when a medical disorder is not Parkinson's Disease but can cause some or all of the symptoms of Parkinson's Disease. Parkinsonism isn't a medical disorder itself. There are specific disorders such as one of the following that can cause it :

Essential Tremor, Hydrocephalus, Wilson's Disease, Vascular Parkinsonism, Cerebellar thoracic outlet syndrome, Antiphospholipid syndrome, Encephalitis Lethargica, Multiple System Atrophy (which includes Shy-Drager syndrome, Striatonigral degeneration, Olivopontocerebellar atrophy), Progressive supranuclear palsy, Corticobasal degeneration

If a medical practitioner has not specifically diagnosed one of the above instead of Parkinson's Disease then there is doubt that their diagnosis of Parkinsonism is correct. Either it isn't Parkinsonism, or they don't know which form of Parkinsonism it is.
