Ritalin ???'s
 

Hi all,

My 7 yr old dd is currently undiagnosed and due to extreme meltdowns, harming herself she has been put on ritalin.

Her pediatrician thinks it may be autism, asperger ,add .


My question is it's been approx. two weeks since she's been on it and she is not currently taking 1 pill in the morning and 1/2 at lunch.

I am noticing some difference in her meltdowns they are not lasting as long and she is remorseful afterwards.

My question is will the ritalin end her meltdowns or just make them less frequent.
If i don't have to increase her dosage i really don't want to.

I guess i just wanted some feedback from parents who have had experience with this as to how long it will begin to work so she's not so angry/violent.
