What the heck is that stuff?
I picked up the CD of my first MRI but I don't see the neuro for two weeks to ask questions. My only real question is what is the image on the right side of the two part picture. The left side shows the brain inside the head but the right hand picture is sploches [sp]. Bright white and dark gray stuff. When I scroll up and down it is still mostly just sploches.
Anybody know what that shows? The radiology report confirms MS and talks about "fairly extensive white matter signal changes". What are signal changes - I've never heard that term before. Curiosity is getting to me. |

That's an interesting site Cherie...thanks!

Thank you for that link Cherie, I have never run accross it before.
It doesn't mention "signal change" though. Could it just mean "lesion"? |
It has to do with the way the MRI slices and dices images, for T2 and T1 views of our brain.
The following might give you enough information to understand the principles, then you google more detailed questions from there: http://www.blackwell-synergy.com/doi...9.2007.00129.x Cherie |
Thanks again Cherie.
