MS Tunes

While MS is kicking my ask right now, I tried to take a nap but the MS Vise Grip would not let me. So to relax I put songs to my symptoms. I started out with the Edmund Fitzgerald and it soon turned to the Ballroom Blitz. I changed the lyrics here to:

Oh, yeah, it was like lightning, every nerve was frightening
And the music wasn't soothing but they all started grooving

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah
And the nerve at the back said
Everyone attack and it turned into a ballroom blitz
And the nerve in the corner said
Boy, I wanna warn ya, it'll turn into a ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz, ballroom blitz, ballroom blitz
Ballroom blitz

Now the nerve in the back
Is ready to crack as it raises its axons to the brain
And the nerve in the corner is ev'ryone's mourner
It could kill you with a wink of her eye

Oh yeah, it was electric, so frightfully hectic
And the band started leaving, 'cause they all stopped breathing

What song describes your symptoms?

TK...................
sorry........I was laughin...........I know its not funny to you.........and I am sorry your feeling so pooooooopie.........
but you were crackin me up!!!!
That should be the MS Theme song for sure!!!!!
Did it help ya get a nap???????

tkrik 04-01-2008 03:25 PM

Heck no I didn't get a nap. LOL. But I did end up "in the desert on a horse with no name . . ." and then R.E.M.'s "Happy shiny people everywhere . . ." Once that song started in my head I knew I had gone overboard and ended up getting up.

You are toooooo funny LOL

Sorry you are having problems. I wish I could be like you. When I'm having pain and spasms I whine. If I sang thru my pain my dh would think I had lost all my marbles. LOL

I think i'm going to sing next time:eek::D

I think I did lose my marbles. Here's a good Peter Frampton one that I would love to sing loudly to my DDs when I am like this and they ask what's for dinner.

Do you, you feel like I do?
Do you, you feel like I do?

Sing your heart out Beth.

Oh TK, I hope you get the feeling better ASAP!! But I loved the tweaking of "Ballroom Blitz"! I have alot of songs that I've felt described my MS challenges, but the one song, that ALWAYS makes me feel good, the one that makes me feel like my old self again is Free Fallin' by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. I laugh at how I used to be a "skater Betty". Now I can't even stand on a board without breaking my neck! LMAO ;D

CayoKay 04-01-2008 08:11 PM

my favorite MS tunes:

Feeling down 'n' dirty, feeling kinda mean
I've been from one to another extreme
This time I had a good time, ain't got time to wait
I wanna stick around 'till I can't see straight

Fill my eyes with that double vision
No disguise for that double vision
Ooh, when it gets through to me, it's always new to me
My double vision gets the best of me

(Foreigner)

and

Lights go down, it's dark
The jungle is your head
Can't rule your heart
A feeling so much stronger
Than a thought
Your eyes are wide
And though your soul
It can't be bought
Your mind can wander

Hello, hello (¡Hola!)
I'm at a place called Vertigo (¿Dónde está?)

(U2)

and:

There is no pain, you are receding
A distant ship's smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move but I can't hear what you say

When I was a child I had a fever
My hands felt just like two balloons
Now I've got that feeling once again
I can't explain, you would not understand
This is not how I am

I..... have become comfortably numb

(Pink Floyd)

:D:cool::D

FFM - I am so glad you enjoy our cyber MS Tunes concert. LOL.

Sometimes I hear Neil Young singing " . . . Helpless, helpless, helpless." LOL

Tricia, I think you missed your calling: you're a darn good songwriter!!! You and Weird Al could collaborate!

When I had a follow-up visit to the orthopod doc 2 weeks ago for my busted fibula, I found myself entering his office humming Michael Bolton's "When I'm Back on My Feet Again." I have no idea where that came from, but I had to smile when I caught myself.

"When I'm back on my feet again
I'll walk proud down this street again
And they'll all look at me again
And they'll see that I'm strong."
