My diagnosis

I have been diagnosed with PTSD and major depression. Day to day functioning is difficult, and I have no energy to do anything. I feel numb emotionally, and get angry very easily. I feel that right now the only thing to do is get myself admitted to the hospital for a while

If being admitted is something that you believe could be helpful, by all means, I'd do it.

When I've been going through the worst of times (with PTSD), my doctors have made themselves available 24:7. For me, that's helped immensely!

There was also a list of things/activities of to-do and not-to-do items that my doctors helped me create. I didn't know if I could go by everything on the list, especially driving in areas that totally depressed me and inspired some totally unpleasant ideas, but it did work. I no longer have to rely on the list.

I wish you the best - in whatever you decide that is best for you.

The Hospital (if they happen to admit you) won’t cure you

I had PTSD for years and can feel your pain. The Hospital (if they happen to admit you) won’t cure you, it will just make you even more depressed and your PTSD suffering will just increase

It’s a difficult task to cope with PTSD but IT IS DOABLE!! And after its done you will say to yourself, oh, WOW it was so easy!

My suggestion to you is; don’t go to the Hospital, instead read about it and read again about it, and talk about it. Opt for some professional help and maybe if you feel it’s unbearable ask your doc for some anxiety medication until you can cope on your own

You may want to visit a very helpful website that has a lot of PTSD treatment and recovery info **

I hope you stay home and feel better soon
