Now and then the question comes up, so I'll ask those who know for certain. Do the search engine bots appear online as guests or as identified bots?

Some of our population seem incredulous over the idea that there are always some lurkers among us.

Curious minds want to know!:rolleyes:

searchbots appear as guests, Cindy but most of the guests are actually readers who have found the topics on Google etc, placed there by the very bots that have been our guests:D
that's how many people find the forums.

stats show that more people read forums than become members, whether that they just need specific info or prefer to stay private readers rather than join and post

short answer...some of the "lurkers" are friendly bots but most are actual guests :)

I've noticed that the bots are very quick....things appear on Google
within a day or less! Many times much less!

where have the response buttons gone, and how do you properly use "quick reply"

To use quick reply just click on the "Q-Reply" button at the bottom of the post you're replying to.

If you want to quote the post (like I have done in this reply) just click on the "quote" button and the post will appear in the reply box.
