Cymbalta.....voices in my head....ghosts.....??????
When I first started Cymbalta I think I started hearing voices. Like someone was talking in the next room.....but I was alone in the house.... This happened several times.
LOL....It didnt really bother me I figured it was just someone to talk to whether it be in my head....or a ghost. Gee, I wish the voices would give me the winning lottery numbers or at the very least tell me where I put my keys and glasses. My Neuro got a chuckle out of this. He thinks it was the cymbalta. meanwhile Im increasing the dosage and now seeing ????? out of the corner of my eye. Started yesterday,.....happened twice. BTW.....Im half Polish....maybe that explains it!!!! Any thoughts??? |
My 3 day experience with Cymbalta was bizarre to say the least. It definitely helped with the pain. But, man, it made me have aggressive and combative thoughts. Very unlike me as I am a more passive person. It scared the living daylights out of me. No more of that for me.
However, it did give me insight in to what someone with psychological problems must go through. The difference was that I knew my thoughts weren't right. I have more compassion for those people than I did before and I truly feel for them. I hope once everything levels out for you, the "ghost voices" will chill out. If it gets really bothersome, call the neuro and ask to switch to something else. |
Being 1/4 Polish, I can definitely say that it's your blood line and not the Cymbalta! ;) My daughter and I have similar experiences. She's actually seen my father (who died before she was born) and my grandmother (this happened the day after Grandma died), and I've had similar experiences with each of them, except that Grandma sends messages to me through my dreams. The most recent one was the night before my daughter was in a serious car accident. I thought it was a strange and nonsensical dream until I was at the scene of the accident.
Seriously, I have no experience with Cymbalta, so I can't offer an opinion on that. Maybe the Cymbalta is just giving you super-powers! |
Ok, now I wouldn't be so calm about this. :p
My ex and I got on some antibiotics one time, for sinus infections we both had, and the first night we woke up at the same time because of some terrifying nightmares. The next night we layed there together with our eyes closed, and told each other about our very scary hallucinations (cloaked figures and such) while we tried to go to sleep. I even get vivid dreams from LDN though, but at least they aren't scary. Personally I could not continue to take a drug that caused me to see and hear things that aren't there. My psyche is far too easily intimidated, after spending my childhood 'battling the demons' for my schizophrenic mom. Cherie |

In the information about this drugs, it says that one of the signs of overdose is hallucinations... One thing to note is that everyone is different with meds, what may be a normal adult dose for one, maybe too much for someone else. I would definitely call the pharmacist and ask about your experience with this med. It seems that lots of people are having problems adjusting to it. |

Cheryl is right...ask your doctor about cutting the dosage. I was hallucinating, walking around the house and didn't know it. I told my husband what was happening and he had the family scared senseless.
I had the remote in my hand and was asleep...my daughter thought I had my 9mm Ruger...I stopped taking for a while and then started back at 30mg. I now am up to 60. Also make sure you take it in the am not at night...Tramadol also causes very bad side effects if taken at the same time. Zanaflex does also... Hope those things go away for you!! |
The voices didnt last long.....think thats why he wasnt concerned. we are increasing because of severe pain in my bones.
I couldnt really hear what the voices were saying......just mumbling. I read on "another site" that others have this too but they arent on cymbalta |
