Think of me at 9AM CDT tomorrow please!!

I am going for my LP. I have not had one (and never had biological kids, so didn't get an epidural). I am kinda nervous. Not as much as I thought I would be. I guess I am looking for this to confirm the MS diagnosis just to help me accept it more, and more evidence to take to the MS specialist for my second opinion. They are also doing it to rule out additional things, so... hopefully they will do that as well ( MS is enough for now  ).

DH will be driving me. The nuero gave me some pain meds to take before to work on the pain/nervousness/possible ha during and after. Plus I have some ativan laying around from my last MRI. I think I'll be fine :p as long as she doesn't mind some drooling!!

Anyhow, thanks for the thoughts!!

Connie

Good vibes heading to you.
Remember when reffering to an LP meant were you were talking about an album? Good times, good times.

My neuro was really good and not much pain involved at all. You lay on your side, get poked in the back, and then have to remain in the bed for awhile. Couple hours or so.

Connie,

Good luck! I'll be sending good thoughts your way while I'm at my 1st Ty appt!

You are wise to get a 2nd opinion if you have any questions and it's normal to go through a period of disbelief when hearing bad news. However, MS is not the worst thing ever.

Since I don't know your story, I don't know if you've had MRIs. If I can search for previous posts, I will. Your MySpace page shows that you've definitely got the determination and strength to take care of yourself and your family. You seem really nice, too.

I will be thinking of you.

It is a simple process, and you will only feel a pinch. Heck, a paper cut is so much worse.

Just be sure to keep hydrated and lay down for the rest of the day.

Hi Beauty,

No worries! It's not nearly as bad as you think it will be. I was panicked and when it was done I said "is that it?" No joke. All I felt was the pinch of the needle putting the pain killer in. After that....nothing. I did feel a little achy in my back later that day but nothing some advil wouldn't help. As Vic said, just make sure you rest some and lie down. Get some of your favorite snacks, rent a movie and just relax. :)

I'll be thinking of you!
