weekend check -in.....
Just got back from the music festival international!
There are bands from all over the world that come to play at our free festival. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy the music. WE listened to sony landreth slide guitar, a gospel group the blind boys from alabama with the new orleans preservation hall jazz band, then Ivan Neville's band. What fun!!! It lasts thru sunday....I am going to new orleans on sunday to meet an old friend...should be crazy there as it is their jazz festival that is going on. Had a very different snack, not your typical festival food.... seared tuna salad...it was so good! am getting my hair colored tomorrow and have to go to a fancy affair with my hubby for a while before heading out to the festival again. Tomorrow night one of our favorite groups is playing called the Duhks.... they are from wenipeg, canada. THey play swampy folky music...I will try to get a link. http://www.amazon.com/Duhks/dp/B0007989PC anyway.... I hope you have a great weekend.... bizi |
I used to love live music.
And the Blind Boys and Ivan Neville sound so cool. Now I find going out to be too exhausting. The past two or three weeks seem particularly exhausting. I would mind less if I were feeling the good kind of tired from physical exertion or for doing a job well done. But I skipped yoga tonight to nap and work is frustrating and draining at the moment. I feel like I am just going through the motions and trying to stay out of trouble by keeping my mouth shut (at work). Hubby and I work at the same place so we go through the same seasonal work cycles. This time around, we are being good to each other and that is a relief. Mari |
Wow bizi it sounds like you're in for a grand ole' weekend! :D It sounds like you are in for a lot of fun, I am so happy you're getting to go out and cut a rug, it's really nice to have a reason to get dressed up (even if it's for a festival, why not do your makeup and hair and feel GOOD about how you look?) and be around people without having to be the center of attn. :D Have a great time!
I wish work was going better for you Mari, I hate that feeling of being exhausted like that from mental activity, it's awful. I was feeling like that for months because of not using my CPAP machine, I would wake up fatigued and tired almost like I didn't sleep much at all. The past two nights though I have been using it again (couldn't for awhile because I had the wrong sized mask and then after I got the right one I got a series of slin problems right where the mask lays so I wasn't able to use it then, so being able to use it again finally is AWESOME!) for the past two nights and I feel so much better. I hope things get a little easier for you soon Mari, I was dragging butt a few weeks ago before we started walking daily, and finally the feeling good part of exercising kicked in. Not sure why it took about three weeks but there ya go, at least it happened and I felt good enough to add to my work out load by starting up wtih the Total Gym again. It's been over a year and we've used it for spurts of time, only last time it ended because we were living in that tiny apartment and it was so hard to set up the Gym, now it's a matter of maintaining motivation. :D Best wishes to you in your battle to reclaim your energy Mari, I know it's not easy and a constant struggle sometimes. But I know you can beat it, just like I am. :D Hope everyone else is doing well this weekend. :D Our plans are to wash the car, pull out the pool, walk and play basketball. Hopefully in the next two weeks we'll get Jackie's trike bike and add that to our variety of outdoor activities to offer the little man. I am sure he will love it and it's going to be blue too! :D http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=5679542 That is the one we'll be getting him so hopefully Jack won't have any trouble putting it all together since they will ship it right to the house. :D I am so excited about it and so is Jackie. We might get to see Mom tomorrow if her hubby finds someone else to go to a Bike expo with instead of bringing her along so hopefully that will work out too. :D If not we'll see her next weekend. ;) Hope you're doing well Nikko, missing you! |
well we listened to the Duhks tonight at the festival and danced ...they were good but they hardly played any of their old tunes, mostly new stuff. ....sniff....
the weather was just beautiful these last 2 days...just perfect! The streets are all closed off and there were thousands of people eating, drinking and enjoying music from all over the world! What a great festival! More to enjoy tomorrow....rain set for sunday. Quote:

Tomorrow is graduation for the kids and I'm not going.
The past two nights I sort of freaked out on the way home. :hissyfit: :hissyfit: I reached my limit. My sister assured me that I would be better off not going in and taking the chance of a bigger freak out. Tired. Depressed. And starting to get really moody/unpredictable. M. |
Mari,
Oh I am sorry that you are feeling this way. Glad that your semester is winding down...hubby has 3 more weeks. maybe you can take a nap today? Would doing some yoga help when you are feeling like this? ((((HUGS)))) bizi |
I've been inside since Thursday. I don't feel right.

Tough one. Maybe it helps if you think that you are showing them: opt for yourself so you can be there for your loved one's tomorrow. Besides: if you give them a spotless childhood, they will be abnormal. Nothing and no-one to complain about or blame, right? {{{Mari}}} |
Dear Minymo,
Thanks for your post. I'm sorry that I was sort of cryptic. I have no kids of my own, thank God. I don't understand ceremonies. Something about them bothers me. Well for one thing, I get very anxious having to sit in a controlled environment with lots of people around :boy(sad): . . . and this one was going to be outside in the Florida sun. . . . http://www.thesmilies.com/smilies/expressive/hot.gif I never went to any of my own graduations: hs, college, other degrees after college.... The only graduation of my own I went to was kindergarten. I remember that I recited two poems of Robert Louis Stevenson. I still remember most of the first one: Quote:
The other was "I have a little shadow that goes in and out with me. . ." That kindergarten event should have been my last graduation. That was my plan. Life turns out funny. Mari |
Only goes to show I did not pay attention to any of your previous posts before I reacted. You are a very generous lady.
I love that poem, by the way. When I was very young, like less than 6 years old, I loved to climb everything and anything, unfortunately I developed issues that prevented me to swing but I do know the feeling of looking out on the world and realizing everything is so SMALL and RELATIVE, thank goodness. I am still trying to recapture that feeling/point of view. |
