Weekly Check-In April 27-May 3, 2008 Welcome New Community Members

Hi Everyone..A big warm welcome to our new community members!

The Unity Walk in Central Park was today..I havent been feeling good lately, very symptomatic, and I decided theat getting up at 5:00 AM to make it to the bus, and coming home at around 11:00 PM was a bit too much for me, even though I would have loved to go

I saw my neuro last week, and he wants to see me again in 2 months, and see if getting back to fishing makes me feel better..If not, I'll have to have a med increase..I had a real good year untill a couple of months ago, when I began to slide backward, but I am not going to let it stop me..I put my boat in the water yesterday and went out and dug a few clams this afternoon when I got back from my support group..I am also going to try some brand name 50/200 Sinemet I have here, to see if maybe its the generic Sinemet that is the culprit..I start that tomorrow morning

In the process of launching my boat, I had a bad wheel bearing on my trailor, and it was a miracle that I made it down to the dock without the wheel falling off..What a horror show that would have been!..But after a few trips back and forth to Walmsley Marine, and the house to get some tools, I got it put back together and got it back home..Well, Ive been saying I needed to get out of the house and get more physically active..I guess I should feel grateful that my trailor was falling apart?..  :D

How was your week?

Hi Steve,

I hope you feel better soon. The weather is too nice to let it slide by the wayside.

This has been a good week for me so far. I've let the school work go sadly in face of the fatigue that was knocking me down, but I feel better now. I'm not as exhausted or barfy feeling. That was the one other thing that was stressing me out and totally exhausting me. I don't start back to classes again until the beginning of June, and hopefully I can finish the last 6 I need.

I had a good visit with my GP (Primary Care Dr.) on Thursday last week. He's excited about my mobility and said that without knowing any history, no one would know I have PD. That really made me happy. :D I see him in about 12 weeks because he's got me scheduled for a sleep study at the Holy Family hospital on May 30th. I told him about the twitching and major limb movements at night - I punched myself in the eye last week and he wants to check into other aspects of my sleep.

Anyway, I've been spending a lot of money lately. I bought some new clothes for my upcoming trip, and a wide-angle lens for my video camera. While I was at it, I spent another $500 or so on music books. Heck as long as I can still play the piano, I'll look at new music. ;)

This past Saturday (4/26), I walked about 5 miles. I took a long way around walk to the Building 19, which is about a mile from my house to get some clothing for me trip. The walk home was a killer, and I really felt it in my legs and my back on Sunday and today. That's the break I guess for being lazy all winter.

Enjoy the good weather while we have it. ;)

John
