Motion Trails

Okay, this is an odd visual symptom I've been having for awhile now.

I see "motion trails". In other words, if I put my hand in front of my face, then move it to the left or right, I see a faint trail or "visual echo" of the motion. It's kind of like on the first Star Trek movie when the Enterprise when in to warp, except that I don't get the cool colors that was on that effect. http://www.msworld.org/forum/images/...s/rolleyes.gif It's happening mostly with my left eye.

Does anyone have a clue as to what I'm talking about or am I still strung out on Xanax? (Though this started before the Xanax/smoking bunnies incident.)

Did you eat any magic mushrooms with the Xanax?:p

Seriously, this could be a sign of delayed nerve conduction in the optic nerve? I know I had it during one of my relapses. I had major visual problems, the "trail" thing really threw me off because it got worse before it got better and just added to the whole "reliving the Grateful Dead years" feeling!

Hope it gets better soon!

I know exactly what you're talking about (and I don't even do xanax, lol). I get that at night or in dark situations. Have had that for years. Nothing showed up on my VER or eye exam and I don't mention it to the docs anymore cuz all I get is the *are you crazy* look.

I get a ghosting effect not the trails but I know what you are talking about.

Have you seen a neuro-ophthalmologist? If not I would recommend that you do that. They know what they are looking for if it is nerve related especially.

I have had eye probs for the last 3 weeks. I know what you ref and I take Xanex at a high mg. (I have for yrs). It is not xanex or atleast for me. For you I would recommend as Sassy did - some kind of neuro-ophthalmologist. Me I'm just going to try and hang in there. I'm told nothing can be none about it - so why bother. Members, if someting can be done, please let me know and I will be next in line for the 3 mo wait for Dr appoint. here. I wish u luck.

Hello Renardo and welcome to NeuroTalk.

This is an old thread and the members on this thread have not been on in quite a long so I don't know if you will get a response.

One of those members might be reading and will come on to answer your question or maybe another member might have experience with this topic.

Best wishes...
