Help... weird reaction to my Rebif shot.
 

I have been injecting Rebif for 2 years now. Tonight was the first time this happened and I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced it.

I did my injection on my stomach. It burned, more than normal and as soon as I withdrew the needle I started to bleed, a lot. Then a bump formed under the skin larger than a pea, smaller than a marshmallow. It happened really fast and kind of freaked me out. My DH told me to rub it and after about 5 minutes, the bump started to decrease in size. Right now it feels like a soft pea under my skin.

Anyone have this happen to them? Is this something I should be concerned about?

I don't think it's anything for you to worry about Blondie. It sounds like you hit a little capillary under the skin

When we inject frequently, we're bound to do that from time to time.

No harm done, but it'll probably bruise quite badly.

Next time you do your stomach, have a cotton ball nearby.

I inject with Copaxone, but I think this suggestion is good for anyone who self injects.

Just before you remove the needle, hold the cottonball just below the injection site. As you remove the needle, move the cottonball onto the injection site and press it down on the site for at least 20 to 30 seconds.

I've hit a couple of spots on my stomach and thighs that were "gushers" and learned quickly to save my clothing or any furniture nearby by having that cotton ball right there as soon as I'm done with the injection.

Well the bump has gone down, but I can still feel it. I'm going to have a really nice bruise to show for it. Good thing I don't bare my tummy to anyone but DH anymore!

Yup - I've gotten that several times. I've been on R for 3 years. I just rub but I don't notice any different side effects afterwards. I still get the same red spots...
