Kentucky Derby - on Saturday (USA)
|
We'll be watching yelling Run baby run!
|
Thanks for that Jo.
My DH loves the Derby, being a horse racing man at heart......but.... Because Oz is a day ahead of Kentucky, I suppose you all want me to tell you the name of the horse that won.....:D |
Hmmm
-how would that work? The race is tomorrow in the USA and shown on TV live here?? Wouldn't it mean that it would be shown on your TV or News on Sunday then?? The time zone things confuse me sometimes:confused: or are you funnin me LOL |

I am joking Jo! Today is Saturday here in OZ, but obviously we won't see the Derby until tomorrow, same as every one else. Didn't mean to tease. Sorry. |
Hey Anne, can you get me tomorrow's winning lottery numbers too? :D
|
Jo...I think she was trying to play a blonde one on you...I kinda fell for it...until I talked to my Olhipie who lived down under for two years...a long time ago...
I do love the derby...but I like everything building up to the actual race...too fun!! |
Ok - my brain took awhile to catch on LOL:D
My hubby teases me because by the end of the races I'm riding the coffee table and keep turning the sound up on the TV.. I pull the coffee table right in front of the TV - and sit on it- then as they come down to the wire I'm riding too... I had a pony and then a really awesome horse. I was a true hose crazy girl, rode mostly bareback racing thru woods and fields taking log jumps, running thru ponds and puddles, riding along the country roads with neighbors and cousins. The boys had minibikes and then motorcycles- so i got to ride those too. I raced my horse against my brothers motorcycles in a harvested field for a quarter mile { he was qtr horse/Tennessee walker mix} the motorcycle speedometer said he was running 45 miles per hr:D It was like like sitting on a smooth muscled train.. Anyway whenever I watch the races i relive that feeling of riding my horse back then. |
Oh I just want to add that I hope it is a safe race and no one gets injured.
I think it was 2 yrs ago?? that the horse shattered his rear foot and eventually had to be put down - I think he would have been a major super horse if that didn't happen.. Barbaro- http://sports.espn.go.com/sports/hor...ory?id=2747087 I cried watching the slow motion replays of his foot flopping around - and he was still wanting to race - the jockey had to really work to stop him . |
I'm so sorry Jo. I didn't realize that you wouldn't know that I was joshing with you.
I would never do or say anything ever that would ridicule or hurt anybody, so please accept my most humble apologies. That'll teach me not to be facecious again! |
