B6 level in supplements far too high?
I don't understand this - I have 50mg B6 tablets, but it says that's 2500% of the daily recommended allowance. Can someone please tell me why it's so high?

B-complex
levels in supplements go like this:
RDA (which is very low, and many researchers think should be raised) about 6- 10mg B6-- StressTabs and other stress formulas have this B-50-- the most common THERAPEUTIC level B-100-- Shouldn't go higher than this daily for B6 B-150 (some places sell this one, but not commonly) People with PROBLEMS may have metabolic needs higher than RDA. The most researched one is B6 dependent seizures. People with pyroluria, and who take drugs that deplete B6 also require more than RDA. Bodybuilder types typically take more B6 --at least 50mg because muscles need that. There is a B6 thread here: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread30724.html |
