Hi,
I was diagnosed with RSD three months ago and have also experienced Muscle Spasms. I asked my doctor to prescribe a muscle relaxant for this as its waking me up at night. The weird thing is that it's my leg that is going into spasms not the original injury site which is my wrist/hand. The only thing that seems to be helping me is massage therapy, self hypnosis and a combination of Gabapentin and natural supplements. I thought I was doing better after a few weeks on the Neurontin (Gabapentin) and tried to go back to work (I have a cleaning business) and YIKES, I almost fell out of bed at 4:00 a.m. when I tried to get up to get some warm milk. My leg almost collapsed. My problem is that if I don't work, I dont make money for the massage and the medicine that is helping (I don't have insurance - go George W.) So if anyone would like to discuss the early symptoms and treatments that are helping (me) I would love to chat. |

Hello from me as well. It's so good to meet you.
You'll find some rather terrific people in the RSD Forum, so make yourself at home, and hopefully we'll meet again around the board. |

Hi ddwine,
I have RSD and deal with spasms in my fingers on my right hand. I massage them also to get them to relax. The last time took longer. I try not to put them in a position that makes them spasm. When I pick up a fork to eat sometimes it gets started.
Welcome to the group and if you come to the RSD forum, I'll be around. I hope things start going better for you. Ada |

I take magnesium for my spasms. Noticed a BIG difference. I take something called CAL/MAG. so you poke around these forums, look up Magnesium for Muscle Spasms, and hopefully you'll get some good info. Welcome to our Neurotalks. Melody |
