Good days and Bad days, today was a good day!

Wow I had a great day today! Jackie was fine this morning, today was his first dose of risperdal at school so Jack and I both we anxious to hear how it went. I called before Jackie got home on the bus and talked to his teacher, it went much better. We are really glad that things might get better for him at school, this is only the first change in his risperdal, he gets an increase as soon as Medicaid will pay for it, I am going to try to get it filled tomorrow but last time they wouldn't get it covered until a day after it was due.

So that's not the best part of today. Jack and I went out. You know how usually men hate shopping? Well he wanted to go with me today and it was pretty good. We were going out for lunch too at a chinese all you can eat buffet and we had the BEST time together! While we were shopping, and were looking for a popcorn popper and juicer to go with the coffee maker we bought, I had no luck in the regular store, so I went to the thrift store and found both for under ten bucks! :D :D :D

I really enjoyed the lunch with Jack, it went great, I had some sushi, and really delicious cream cheese filled fried wontons along with some friend rice, shrimp, scallops, and cheese cake for dessert with some orange sherbet. Oh it was so nice to be out together, it's been way long. While we were out I bought some hair color, and when we got home and had stuff put away I went in to do my hair and Jack came in, he helped me get all the gray spots I couldn't see! :D :D :D

I mean I feel so good today, I am really happy tonight, we're going to start juicing and STOP eating microwaved popcorn. Jackie has lost five pounds and hopefully things will continue to get better, we should have his trike soon too, I figure it will be a couple more weeks but it will make a nice difference I bet. We got him the coolest toy motorboat today and the coolest kite, it's a Bald Eagle! I can't wait to see his reaction when he sees it up in the sky! :D

I just wanted to share some good things since I was so upset about the stupid tooth breaking. Hope you enjoyed sharing in my day. I am really feeling like things are just looking up. I wrote in the writing board's Flash Fiction Challenge this past sunday and it was awesome. I wrote a nice piece and felt great about it! And the week before I wrote a good piece and it was just as awesome of a feeling. :) I hope to start up on a new novel soon based on these two pieces too, so I am looking forward to getting my groove back with writing. :D

Hope you're all doing well and here's a big hug for reading the thread! :grouphug:

Dear Pam,
This is great.
I am so happy that Jack and Jackie are doing well and helping you have good days.
I liked hearing about your trip to the Chinese rest but I think I liked hearing about the good finds in the thrift store even more.
The best -- that you are enthusiastic about writing again. :)

Thank you both for being my friends, you're the best!

Thank you bizi! I am just delighted that Jack and I had such a wonderful time. It was almost like being seventeen again with him, we talked and held hands and really enjoyed our day out. :) And writing for the past two weeks has been just great! :D

I am so glad my thrift store finds tickled you too Mari, I was bouncing in my chair when I found them, mostly because I was expecting to find nothing, yet there they were! Almost new condition! They had two identicle juicers, but I got the cleanest looking one and it worked great! Haven't got the kernals to try out the popcorn popper yet but should get some today. :D And you're right, it's the best news to share, that I am enthusiastic about writing again! :D

I am so glad I have you both in my life, sharing things with you really makes me feel good. To know that it also brightens your days to hear about events going on just makes me feel happy. If I get started on this new novel I'll let you know here. :D

Dear Pam,

Be careful with the popcorn.
People can break their teeth on that stuff.

We have a juicer but we hardly ever use it.
Hubby likes carrot juice. My fav for a while was cucumber -- mostly because it was easy. But cucumbers don't don't have much flavor.

I got a recipe book for juices. Here are some that I want to try the next time he drags out the machine:

I:
7 ounces carrots
7 ounces alfalfa sprouts

II:
7 ounces carrots
7 ounces celery

III.
7 ounces carrots
7 ounces cucumber
1 inch piece peeled ginger

IV.
7 ounces carrots
14 ounces parsnips

V.
7 ounces carrots
2 ounces spinach
2 ounces parsley

I wonder how many carrots make up 7 ounces?
Maybe someone would have to double or triple these amounts.

Probably apples would work with carrots too.

I won't be eating the popcorn, hubby wanted the popper so I got it for him, the juicer is for both of us. I just can't wait to see how well it works. LOL! :D

I would guess 7 oz is around four or five carrots, because that is what the base I have seen on the net on recipes for basic juices. And I would guess that 7 oz of celery is about three or four stalks of celery. :D Thanks for the recipes! I am going to go to the library and get the Juiceman's juicing book, the only one they have...LOL!
