Better Late?

A Warm Hello to ALl!

I hope all mothers, grandmothers, etc., had an excellent day in their honor yesterday!
I was a bit off on the timeing becaue we'd ha Mother's Day gathering on the eveing before..and another tonight! It's difficult to get with both sets of parents, at times!

Mothering is quite a responsibility and quite a "calling!' I have a great deal of respect for all mother, for sure!

Warmest Wishes to all...Mother and also to non-Mothers!

For the first time in years I heard from all my kids but one. And she was probably busy and couldn't get to a phone. I've had my ups and downs with my kids. The eldest is almost 28 and the youngest is 13. But all in all I've been very blessed in that all my kids are maturing into the kind of people I had hoped they would all be. And it shows. My only son is taking me to dinner this evening as a belated Mother's Day gift. If you all knew the troubles and worries I've had with my son you all would see what a milestone this is. Trust me when I say this is *big*! :D

Being a mother never ends. There's no cutoff date for it. No expiration date. But I'm proud to say that I'm friends with my adult children as well as being their mother.

When a mom can say that she is FRIENDS with her adult children, BOY DID YOU LUCK OUT!!!

Way to go!!

(raises hand) I am one of the lucky ones. . . my daughter and I have always been best friends! And how lucky am I . . . she is also best friends with my partner . . . and she even sends her a separate mother's day card of her own every year! You don't need gifts when you've got that!

I spent Mother's Day in Michigan with my family!!!! 2nd year in a row that I was on vacation on Mother's Day. My nephew got married last year on the day before Mother's Day! Had a great vacation too, my grandkids are all growing up so fast, my grandsons are getting so tall, even at 10! We grow them tall in Michigan, even my granddaguhters are tall!! My newest grandchild is just 8 weeks old Saturday. He is so precious, was 4 weeks early and he is still tiny, just a little over 7#. I think I took 100 pics!

Was a good vacation--my neuropathy wasn't as cruel this trip, but I have lost 38#, so maybe that has helped some! The last 200 miles in Michigan, my butt did want to stand up--I can't fly, I am too big a coward. Then on the trip home, my left leg was either numb, or having it's little electrical shock fits--the worst was sitting in traffic here. We sat in line at the Throgs Neck Bridge waiting to pay the toll for at least 1/2 hour or more, then we were in bumper to bumper traffic on the LIE for about 10 exits in 15 mph traffic and it wasn't even commuter traffic! We're home now, and I can relax and get the kinks out!!

It sounds like many had some good Mother's Day and I am sorry for those who have rocky relationships. I can relate but it can get better at different points of life. I came home to MI and had not seen my mom in 8 months so we spent Mother's Day together. I moved back so spent the week with her and on Mon am moving to my rental home. I love my mom but she stresses me out and can drive me bonkers. I was going to stay at a hotel but am trying to build a better relationship and she has done so much for me I feel I owe it to her. Hugs to all my "adopted" moms here. You were in my thoughts
