neighbor's dog woke me up/still working on noise issues
 

Greetings,
I went to bed after 5:00 am. At 8:00 am I woke up because a dog was whining/howling/barking. It was such a pitiful sound. I felt sorry for the dog. I guess someone had just left for work and left him/her home by himself. I wanted to tear through the walls and get him so that he could settle down on my bed and we could sleep together. http://www.thesmilies.com/smilies/animal0002.gif Then I could get some rest.

I made up the day bed in the computer room and turned on the fan. Then the landscaping trucks started working outside my window in all their noisy glory. But I am starting to get used to truck sounds. I woke up at 11:00 am and skedaddled to work. I felt like an idiot for not getting the sleep thing straightened out.


I am going to order styrofoam earplugs over the internet tonight.

---too tired to pick up drugstore earplugs or do anything else execpt show up at work. The boss noticed my red eyes so I told her about the dog keeping me up. I left off about the part about not going to bed until it was nearly sunrise. :eek:

Hey Mari,

If you remember me talking about all the construction worker problems I have had since I moved to the South? I have silicone and foam earplugs. I like both, the silicone forms better to your ear and blocks out more noise, but the foam ones, I use more, my cats love to play with them!!!

It is under the glitter graphics on the left hand box.

People that have dogs and have to work, should leave plenty of toys and chew bones to keep them occupied, plus leaving on a radio or tv helps.

Usually, a dog will settle down pretty quickly, if this is the master's normal routine everyday.

It could be a puppy, or maybe the dog heard something that kept him/her barking.

Again today at 8:00 am the dog started.
I'll buy the silicone ear plugs on the way home from work tonight. I don't remember their helping that much in the past.
