dropping things all over
I'm starting to worry I'm getting a new MS symptom. I've had a fever this week--maybe it triggered something? I've been dropping stuff...like I am a klutz. I'll try to do something with a spoon and it just seems to fly out of my hands. My hands are shaking a little. I had shaking hands a few months ago but thought it was the anxiety/panic I had been having because it seemed to go away with ativan.
Has anyone had a problem with dropping stuff? Is this MS? Anxiety again? |
I've always had problems with dropping things and having things fly out of my hands and it happens on a daily basis. But if I am not feeling well, a little under the weather, it does happen a whole lot more on those days.

ALWAYS . . .
Treat a fever with fever reducers, and go find out why you have the fever. Fevers will cause a psuedo exacerbation (which can let up when the trigger, like overheating, is removed), or result in a REAL exacerbation, if the fever is due to infection that is untreated. New or worsening of existing symptoms, lasting longer then 24 - 48 hrs (in absence of still treatable infection), means you are in an attack. It sounds more like you have infection though (because of the fever), so go find out what it is and get treatment. In the meantime, keep your fever in check. Cherie |
i couldn't have said it better than cherie.
please investigate why you have the fever. i can tend to drop things too. especially when i'm real tired. |
Well, I have an appointment with my rheumatologist tomorrow. When I first got the O.N. and dizziness I was having off and on fever...this is why the diagnosis of MS was delayed initially even though I had the Dawson's fingers lesions and abnormal spinal tap. All the docs said you never get fever with MS. I had mono for 9 months before the MS stuff kicked in. Anyhow, they ran every conceivable test in the hospital while I was being treated for O.N. They said there was no evidence of infection in my body--tested for bacteria, virus, parasites, lyme, syphilis, HIV, lupus, West Nile Fever, you name it, even stuff I had never heard of. I've been to the infectious disease doctor multiple times. They sent me to the rheumatologist for "Fever of Unknown Origin" (FUO...Or as I like to call it UFO). No one knows why I have low grade fever problems which is frustrating. Anyhow, the fever has come back last week. Ergh. I'm taking fever reducers non-stop. Once again I'm sure the rheumy will run a billion blood tests because that is what they do. The only weird thing that showed up when I had O.N., fever, and the MRI full of lesions was slightly elevated SED rate and ANA.
So maybe the dropping and shaking hands is from MS being aggravated by heat? Or maybe it's from the extreme anxiety from the new diagnosis and anxiety about this pesky fever that has come and gone ever since I got mono? Thanks for the advice. |
