Hi - Lumbar problems??!
Am not familiar with "forums" but find this one very interesting SO. . . . . . here goes!
Had a 2nd MRI and, along with arthritis in my back - am diagnosed with: "bilateral neural foraminal stenosis".......AND herniated disk on L5 which showed up on MRI 3 years ago. BOTH times perineural cysts were sited and and "are of NO consequence" according to the radiologist's report. It seems that the discomfort and pain has been getting worse and I am now getting very concerned that "no one" seems to think it's a serious thing?!?!!?!? I do NOT want surgery but I do fear that something will have to be done - other than trying very hard not to take my vicodin - (I believe I have senior citizen guilt") but I cannot live my life like I WANT to - no gardening, no lunches, etc., etc., and I MISS my life as it was before all this began. Next step will be the injections - am scared - am too YOUNG for this crap! :) Anyone had any similar problems? Would like to hear from you......thanks for listening! |
Hello and welcome to NeuroTalk. Great to see you have come to be with us. You will find a great number of caring, supporting members here willing to help each other as they can.
You can find some assist in the following link. http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum22.html Again welcome, looking forward to seeing you around. Darlene  |
Oh my! Your back sounds very painful and your report sounds similar to the one my husband recently received. He also is not excited about the prospect of spinal surgery, so we wait to see how he manages for now.
Welcome to NeuroTalk from me as well. I see that Darlene has given you great directions, so hopefully I'll get to know you a little better around the forums. I hope you enjoy your stay with us. |

Hello hvb and Welcome to NeuroTalk. I understand your frustration w/the pain and not wanting to take meds. I have severe back/spine pain and at this point, the Dr wants to do surgery, but can't. (Osteoporosis)
I hate pain meds and usually wait until it's unbearable before I take them. Yes, I know that's not the way to do it, but like you~~ I fight the pain. Just wanted you to know that others here can relate to what you are going through. We are all here for one reason or another. I hope you can find some great info, advice and comfort here at NT. It is an amazing place and the members, as you can see, are truly wonderful folks. Please make yourself at home. http://dl5.glitter-graphics.net/pub/...hsj290bpir.gif |
