In Pain and Begging for Help!!!!
Hello everyone, I'm new to this site, however, I share alot of the same problems with headpain that alot of the members discussed. In 2005, I went out to dinner came home and experience severe headpain on the left side of my head and a period of vision lost. I went to the ER and was given a CT Scan and a Lumber Puncture and was told to follow up with a Neurologist. I seen a Neurologist who scheduled an MRI and told me that I have an empty cella (adnormal pitutary gland) and wrote me a prescription for neurontin and said try to go to work. At times I couldn't get out of the bed because of the pain. It lasted 6 months.
In January 2008, I had severe pain in the back of my head and on the left side. My right eye turned blood red, I went to an Opthamologist and was told that I had an eye infection and after wearing glasses most of my life I no longer need them. In April my headpain came back severe, I seen my Neurologist he prescribe neurontin again (after I told him it didn't work) and he suggested that I go to work whenever I can, because although I'm sick, he doesn't feel right taking me off work. I went to another Neurologist he scheduled an MRI. It came back empty cella, he prescribe me Tylenol 3 and said I can't take you off work. On 5-21-08 I contacted my Neurologist because I started having trouble with my speech his nurse said he stepped out, however, she'll tell him. I never received a return call so I went to the ER. The doctors their wanted me to take Morphine for my pain and to see if my stutter would stop. I declined the Morphine because I was scared to sleep. Now I'm home fighting for back pay from April till now. Still stuttering, pus coming out of my eyelids and headpain, but the only thing I'm getting in the run around. |
Hi, Lee-Lee! :Wave-Hello: Welcome to NeuroTalk!
I'm not sure where to direct you, but I do think you might consider another neuro. Your doc is your employee and if he/she's not doing the job, a replacement might be in order. We do have a search engine located in the toolbar near the top of every page, it might help you locate discussions pertaining to each of your symptoms. Please don't give up on docs, they're the ones who can help you most; it's just a matter of finding a good fit. :) |
Hi Lee-Lee and welcome to NeuroTalk! So sorry for all the pain you're experiencing and the run around the doctors are giving you. I agree that you should search for a new Neurologist - one that will listen to you and help you get to the bottom of whatever is happening. Don't give up!!

Hi there Lee-Lee and welcome to NeuroTalk.
You certainly have been through a terrible time with that pain. I agree with AfterMyNap, maybe it's time to see a different Neurologist. W have a Headache Forum and another for Chronic Pain. You might get some better advice from the people in those forums. Here are the links: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum32.html http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum10.html |
