A guy just made a pass at me!!!!

AND I'M ABSOLUTELY DELIGHTED!!!

I strutted home laughing my head off.

I was at Dunkin Donuts (alone, because Alan goes to bed late and gets up late). So I just enjoy my time reading my newspaper. Dunkin Donuts has a little upstairs room with tables and chairs.

So every morning, I go there and usually some of my neighbors drop in, sit and chat, or just pass by and say hi. Everyone is extremely neighborly and friendly and I adore the coffee.

So TODAY, something a bit different happened.

I finished up my breakfast, folded my newspaper, and I descended the small stairway. A man sitting at a table starts talking to me. I did not understand him from the distance I was at. He motioned me over. Now one would think that Melody would NOT go over to a strange man just because he motioned me over.

Well, all thoughts of danger went to the wind, and he got my curiosity. I thought he had to tell me something.

I said "excuse me, I could not hear what you said". And he smiles and says "what are you doing up there?" I said" "Why, I read my newspaper".

He then motions across the table to the empty chair and goes "How about sitting down and joining me". I was so surprised at this I just looked at him. Then I saw the twinkle in his eyes. BELIEVE ME HE HAD A TWINKLE!!!

I just smiled and said "Have a nice day". He laughed and said "are you sure you won't join me?" and I said again: "Have a nice day".

I walked out laughing my head off.

You'd be surprised how a little thing like that makes one hold in their stomach, walk a bit straighter, etc. etc.

I'm not sure if I should tell Alan.

He'd either go and try and find the guy, or he'll laugh and say "I bet you'll be conceited all day long".

Hey, I'm 60. This was a nice day booster, believe me.

He wanted a pretty lady to sit with him. Evidently you were the one http://bestsmileys.com/love2/24.gif

Melody

I think Alan already knows he's married to a "hot mama." I'd hold off on telling him, unless there comes a time when he doesn't want to sit with you. :p

Your story reminded me of a doctor I used to know at the hospital. I was young and pretty back then. When I'd see him in the hallway, he'd stop as if to examine a piece of art. Then he'd say in an almost lustful manner and South American accent, "Hello, Miss Kathy."

Some of the other women thought he was creepy when he did that to them, but I just laughed him off. He wasn't dangerous and had no intention of harming me.

The man you met today sounded charming - not dangerous or too pushy, just complimentary. Take the tip and keep it for yourself - Score one for Melody! :D

Woo Hoo... that's me all right!!! I've been laughing since this morning.

When Alan woke up at 12 noon, he saw me come in all laughing and smiling, and he goes "oh oh, you did something, what did you do??" and I said "MOI????

He said "Spill". So I just told him what happened. We both laughed. I told him "you didn't know you're married to a hot tamale did you??"

He said: ""I find this out every day".

Thank god, I can still make this guy laugh. He makes me laugh too!!!

Oh, the really funny part is after this happned at Dunkin Donuts, IF YOU THINK I WAS GOING TO HOBBLE OUT OF THERE WITH MY ARTHRITIC BODY, well forget it.

I stood up straight and walked out with dignity. I wasn't about to let a guy who just asked me to breakfast, well I wasn't about to let him see me all bent over (the weather was changing and that always happens to me).

I just left Dunkin and I swear, I held in my stomach like there was no tomorrow.

There's nothing like a compliment from a gent, to make ANYONE stand up straight and hold in their tummy. lol

To Famous Mel,
Maybe he saw you on Youtube and recognized you!!! Maybe... 8-)

MelodyL 06-05-2008 10:12 AM

Don't think he saw me on youtube. From his age, I don't think he's ever touched a computer!!! lol

No, I think he was just some lonely guy who saw me as an ice cream sundae!!!

Hey, who woudn't want to be thought of as an ice cream sundae once in a while, right??

I just came back from Dunkin. He wasn't there (thank goodness)

See, when it happens once, it's a lot of fun, and you can put it into perspective. When a guy bothers you from time to time, it's not fun anymore.

I was sitting by myself when the guys behind the counter came over to me. (We are all very friendly, they are about 21 and they love Alan and me). They are always asking about him. He had come in with his new shoe boot and they were going all oooh and ahh.

So they kind of look out for me. So I had them sitting at my table and I told them the story. Ever see two 21 year old boys laughing so hard they were crying. Then they put on the belly dance music (because they know I ADORE belly dance music). And they started dancing in Dunkin Donuts. We all had a laugh.

One of the guys is burning me a cd of hot belly dance music so I can put it on my IPOD.

I don't think they see me as an actual OLDER PERSON.

I believe they see me as a fun person who likes Belly Dance Music. And that's fine by me.

So I'm glad I told them. Because if they see someone bothering me, they'll just go hog tie him and send him back to their native land....EGYPT.

Thank goodness for Dunkin Donuts. I laugh every morning with these kids.

Melody
