Every time I fall

my symptoms go from stable to far worse. I am hoping this time that may not happen.
It seems that through the entire course of my knowing I have MS a fall has preceded a drastic change in my symptoms... to worse.

The summer before I was diagnosed I took a horrific fall in New York City. Lost it, and there I was, face down on a sidewalk. Not the way to show my DH around my home town... bloodied shins. Within a few months it dawned on me that there was something drastically wrong. MS was the diagnosis.

The next was a bad fall almost three years ago... ended up in the predicament I am now in.. not too ambulatory. My wheelchair is my best friend.

Now, day before yesterday, I was creeping around my kitchen when wham, out of the blue I fall flat... again face down. The only difference was that I tried to stop my fall and managed to take out a kitchen cabinet.

I swear, if my symptoms escalate again...
We shall see, thanks for listening to my vent.

I replied earlier, but it did not show up.

Do you suppose the fall provoked the symptoms/relapse, or that you fell BECAUSE something was coming? Just thinking...

Vent away, Rachael.

Keeping my fingers crossed your fall doesn't cause your symptoms to get worse.

Rach, seriously, do you have a rollator in the house? I don't like to use my chair or scooter indoors, I prefer to do the walking and rest on the seat of the rollator when I need it. Bilateral support can make an enormous difference!

I keep one in the house and another in the car. It just makes sense for me. I can't stand the thought of ripping a rotator cuff again, or worse.

Please consider one!

I find that my symptoms do get agitated by falls. I think it's emotional for me, it's just soooooo different and humiliating, and painful!

So sorry you took a tumble Rachael. Sure hope your'e not too sore from it. Just glad you didn't break anything besides the cabinet? You didn't, did you?

Take care of YOU~ We only have one Nevada Leftie!!!

Yes, I have a rollator. The thing is I was walking along(shuffling, actually), holding on to the counter when boom and that's all she wrote....
I have fallen with my rollator, and banged myself up pretty bad.
Thanks for the suggestion, though.:)

Nah, the only thing I hurt was my pride and bruised one knee(again).
