Cruddy, cruddy day

Here's one more rant. Thanks for humoring me and reading it if you do. I know I will feel much better after I have finished this.

I just realized a moment ago that this would have been my 13th wedding anniversary; maybe this is some sort of karma gone wild. I absolutely abhor my ex and divorcing him was a wonderful thing to do as he had a penchant for beating me up, starting on our honeymoon.

Today, I am waiting for some of my students to come back from a class elsewhere in the building. I wait 5, 10, and at fifteen minutes call to see what the deal is. The other teacher just HAD to keep them over even though we run on a strict time schedule. He wanted to do some flashcards! Are you kidding me?

I need my kids when they're supposed to be there so I can get them ready for finals. WTF? Flashcards for music class? This was his last class and he needed to keep them over for flashcards!

He always (and yes, it is always) goes over his alloted time but today it really chapped my rear. This was the beginning.

Not to mention that this is day 5 of ridiculous heat in the 90s and unrelenting humidity in central NY. I can barely walk and I am a sweaty, miserable beast. We have no AC at school. My three fans hardly help at all.

I left my moonroof open this morning and lo and behold, we get a freak storm with tornado warnings. Of course, I am not watching TV to learn of this impending doom so my car is now full of water.

Nothing like driving home with wet pants!

I get home and call my neuro's office. This is an adventure in itself. I kid you not when I type that I have to call them all the time. If I waited for them to call, I'd be in a bad way.

I've been off Rebif for about 7 weeks now because of liver enzyme levels. The latest numbers were still above normal but dropping. My PCP ordered that blood work, told me the numbers and promised to fax or call the neuro.

PCP gives the okay to restart Rebif.

Finally, on last Thursday, after 2 weeks of calling the NP at the neuro's, she finally calls back. The week before when she told me to call she went on vacation. No one in the office tells me that when I call (because she told me to call her and get some information)! Doh!

The nuero's office doesn't work on Fridays so I am desperate to get that call from the NP so we can discuss the numbers and the Rebif issue. I have everything written down so I don't forget anything. She calls me last Thursday while I am napping.

I am more alert than she is. I can tell she doesn't have my chart. I am giving her information that she should already know. I ask if we can restart R, she says yes.

Yippee.

She promises to mail me a script for new blood work in 3 weeks, a new Rebif script because my old one has expired, a new script to start Ritalin because Provigil doesn't work anymore, and a script for my Klonopin.

Three times I have to remind her of everything I need.

I make the huge error of making a call to someone else while a nurse from the neuro's office calls and leaves a message to call back. They are now closed.

Today is Tuesday, no scripts have come in the mail. I called the neuro's office back yesterday to see what the nurse wanted. No one knows. She doesn't call me back.

Today, no call from them so I call again. The problem is that they won't release the scripts until they get the blood work faxed from my PCP. He was supposed to do that last Thursday. He didn't. I call his office and ask them to please send the info ASAP.

The neuro's office is like this all the time. Never once did they say what they needed. How am I supposed to know the numbers aren't there? The NP said she was mailing out the scripts last Thursday. Grrrrr.

I come home and my sun porch is also flooded. This includes the cat litter box. The stray litter is now everywhere, wet and slimy, the box is flooded, and it smells bad.

It is now all cleaned up but that took a while. I have since showered and made some dinner and brownies and didn't burn myself.

Stupid stuff, I know but it seems like the camel's back was broken today. Arghhhhhh!

The one nice thing which made me come here and write a tome was that someone here sent me a message to be their friend. Even if it was an accident, I don't care. I was so doggone delighted to see that someone wanted to be my friend. I cried for a bit.

Friends are good all the way around.

Quick, someone go get Weeble a glass of wine. *hands glass to Weeble* There you go, just take a sip.:D

My goodness, you did have a cruddy day! Actually, a downright sh*tty day! I feel for you. I am glad you were comfortable enough to come on here and vent. Between that and a good nights rest, you'll be better tomorrow.

AfterMyNap 06-10-2008 06:45 PM

Holy carp, Weeb! That is a crappy day, the cat litter thing alone would have done me in.

It's good that you came on to vent, we all do it and we all feel better afterward. I know it's no consolation, but I've done the roof thing too.:o And, like Frank, have driven home in a snowdrift with a side of buttcicle more than once.:o:o:o

The good news is, tomorrow is a new day, fresh with no problems or mistakes in it!:)

Phew, I got exhausted just reading about your day.

Please know that you have plenty of people who care about you here, even if some of us haven't got into the groove of sending out friend requests.

That music teacher reminds me of my daughter's French teacher. She buggers around all class, then makes the kids stay later to get everything done. Meanwhile, there are a long line-up of parents sitting there waiting for their kids.

Since she "always" does this, maybe you could mention something to her.

Have you ever had brownies with Cool Whip (non-dairy topping) on them?? Mmmmmmm!!!

(looking in cabinet for box of brownie mix, and wondering if I still have the bowl of frozen Cool Whip in the freezer)

I've been having a bad week (or three) with the vision problems, but it sounds like you had a really carppy day.

I, myself, just made myself paranoid as heck a little while ago. I found TWO ticks on me. One was inside my right shoe (not actually ON me) and the second one was on my right leg, crawling up my leg. It was red, and looked really small, and just creepy!

I didnt get a chance to save the first one, but I removed the second one from my leg with a piece of Scotch tape, and saved it in a Ziploc just in case I need to send it off somewhere. (after reading about ticks and Lyme while I was waiting to get diagnosed with MS, has me scared to death of those little beasties!

I'm so sorry about your carpy day! Don't you think that we should get paid by our doctor's offices for doing their work for them :)! I think I'm gonna start keeping track of my time and send out a couple of bills :D!

You know you have friends here, Weeble (even if some of us are a little slow in figuring out all the new stuff on here)..
Here's to a better day tomorrow!
