Album Feature

Let me preface this post with an apology - if there may already be a thread on-topic or if someone else has previously inquired:

In member profiles, there's a feature re: Albums and Add Album.

Would someone please explain more about the feature?

Thanks!

Hi Bobbi
it is there so you can have your own photo album :)

Okay... cool.

:Thanx: :yahoo:

It's also awesome if you want to post a pic in a thread. Rather than uploading it as an attachment to a post, you can upload your image to your own album and it automatically creates a bulletin board image link (BB Code). Use that link by pasting it in your post. The advantage here is that the image appears in full size as opposed to the thumbnail that comes with an attachment.

The best way I've learned to use this stuff is to just try and make it work for me. I promise that if you click around and try things, it will not blow up your computer! ;)

Cindy, I had considered doing as you do, and suggested - to see what would happen. I wasn't too sure about the bandwidth use, though, and don't want to impose on DocJohn's generosity.

As long as it doesn't send bandwidth through the proverbial roof or if the uploaded images are compressed, I'll give it a go .

I've a few domains I maintain, but don't want their servers hosting personal (due to the URLs being indexed in s. engines), and I totally lack the time and patience to fiddle with the free image-hosting sites.

I just took some photos of my pooch having her daily cubies (ice cubes) 'n a glass. Maybe I'll try with those.

Yes it worked Bobbi, and what a lovely looking dog you have.

You enthused me and I started an album of my own. :D

I also noticed if you double click the pictures they blow up nice and big. Thanks Bobbi. I wouldn't even have tried it had it not been for you.

uploading photos

Sorry for hijacking this old thread, but I have a question about our albums... Is there a limit of how many photos you can upload per day to your album?
All my files are small enough, but it won't let me upload more than 2 photos, after that, I get an 'invalid file' message. I've resized them even smaller, but they won't upload. I only have 2 in each album so far anyway...
Hopefully it will work again tomorrow?
:o
