Best advice you ever got

After responding to another thread and sharing the best advice I ever got, I thought I'd like to hear what each of you consider to be the best advice you were ever given.

The best advice I ever got? I went to a clergyman and rattled on and on how my son would go to jail if I didn't intervene, blah blah blah. He just sat there and smiled. When I finally shut up and asked him what to do, he gave me the words of advice that I would keep leaning on: "Just love 'em."

I did and I do. Just love 'em. I backed off and let my four kids make their mistakes and learn from them, just like I was allowed to do when I was a young person.

My Dad:

Apply the Law of Proportionality to your life:

You have two ears and one mouth, so listen twice as often as you speak.

Victor, you have a very wise father. So, did you always listen to his good advice? :winky:

It's really a tie,

If you want friends, first, be a friend.

Buy low, sell high.

The Ten Commandments.

What to teach your children about money:

How to earn it
How to save it
How to spend it
And how to SHARE it

My Dad said, never be afraid to admit you''re wrong in anything - choices, jobs, life, etc. Start over.
