It's always fun for me to imagine what my board buds look like, how they live, or what they're really like in person. Most of the time, my guesses are pretty good. Other times, I have been completely, totally, incontrovertibly in the wrong universe!

Case in point, when I first encountered a particular online friend, I was convinced that she was a flustered, confused, slightly daft, pitiful, roly-poly, old bat with thick, dirty glasses and thigh-highs rolled down over her hairy ankles. Mrs. Doubtfire, on a bad day.

Has anyone else had a similar awakening?

yes, it was none other than DM!

OMG that is so funny!! I thought almost the same thing about DM. Reading her posts I truly thought she was how should I put it.....Matronly:eek: Flower dress down to her knees big thick glasses. I'm sure you can imagine the rest:eek:

LOL!

Sassy was another one, for some reason I thought she would be quite tall and dressed in a professional's suit when me met. She's pretty normal, a jeans and sweater chick!:D

I pictured Sassy as tall with black hair. glasses that just sat on the tip of your nose (like old teachers would wear) and very serious. A get to the point typle person:cool:

Mamma's Kids avatar throws me off. Not sure of my mind's picture.

That being said, my own image (not avatar since I do not have one, yet). I decided to stop coloring my hair, to see what it looked like naturally.

I look at photos and wonder who that old woman could be and it is weird to realize it is me.

And DM, I first thought she looked like Tinkerbell. Imagine my shock.

I met someone online. It's kinda bad to think stereotypes but he had THE strongest British accent you would ever hear. He told me on the phone that his appearance was of Indian heritage, and we did meet eventually. My mind could not accept it *lol* and it was just hard to get used to this good looking Indian guy speaking the Queen's english.

I also met someone online, a guy, that was like 5'0 or so. He wanted to date and I'm 5'10.. oh my, I told him I could carry him around like a little baby!

As for myself *lol* I am a relaxed, class-clown type.. hmmm, like on here :) If we ever have a Georgia GTG.. then people can find out! :)

Too funny, now that I think about it, Taffy was another one who caught me off-guard. I pegged her as the girl from Grease, well, just look:

She's actually a tall, svelte blonde!

I met my Olhipie online and the rest is a grand love story!!:inlove:

I have one online friend I sent a photo to. She said I was way different than she imagined. She'd imagined me as a blonde.

I figured DM was pretty much as she is! Except I have to admit, everybody I've met is so much better looking than their photos!

You're all just a bunch of cutie patooties! ;) :grouphug:

ewizabeth 06-12-2008 03:40 PM

I picture Taffy as short and cute with blonde-streaked hair and always smiling. Am I close? :Scratch-Head:
