Please remember, if you can, to try to donate to the local animal shelters.

It had occured to me that if the food banks (for people) were doing as poorly as they say on the news, the shelters probably were doing even worse.

Well, a friend of dh's just bought a mule and 2 or 3 horses for $500. The owner just couldn't feed them anymore. So sad...

Didja know you can adopt a horse from petfiner for a few hundred bucks, or even free? Wow, I wish I had the land.

There are currently almost 300,000 pets up for adoption on petfinder alone.
