Well, my shuttle's down safely so my workload's eased up somewhat. We really should get together... Your choice where.

If we meet in your neck of the woods, either an early or late lunch. I refuse to deal with the west loop any other time. I know your area well - gimme the closest major intersection and I'll let ya know what's around there.

The invite's still on - ya get a tour of the Johnson Space Center if ya want to come down. It's not that bad of a drive - just take the loop around to I-45 and head south. I used to make the drive all the time when I worked in the galleria and had business at NASA.

Yeah, it's hot this year. Last year was nice, but this year is being normal. And dry...

Hate the west loop huh? lol Well I am right there next to it! That's the only thing that separates me from the Galleria! I'm in the AftonOaks area right between Westheimer and Richmond. I can manage driving around here most of the time, cause I know some of the short cuts and side streets ;) but it's going out any further where I have trouble. Not so much the traffic anymore, just the stupid blurry vision and cog fog I get sometimes.

I have been to Clear Lake a few times and even the Space Center (for the balloon fest. thing) my SIL lives in Friendswood....but I'm not sure I could handle the drive by myself.:(

Yeah we gotta get it worked out for early lunch or something sometime...let me know!

Last year's fest I had the honor of being on site all weekend. There must have been a shuttle mission at the time.

We were there when they fired up the balloons when it started getting dark....was pretty cool.

The only thing I didn't like was I had to use my wheelchair cause I could barely walk without falling over, and wow people were so friggin' rude! I embarrassed dh cause I got ticked off and started swinging my cane back and forth out in front of me saying real loud wheelchair coming through move it or get run over! :rolleyes: Yeah I can be a beach :p sometimes!
