I just got a Fox alert about his death. How sad. He was hilarious! He will be missed by many.

His death is the first thing I read about this morning, and couldn't believe it. I didn't realize he'd had heart problems for so long. It's like when Frank Zappa died, the sad realization that we're all getting older (even tho, logically, I already knew that :o).
So long to the Hippie-dippy Weatherman..We'll meet again, and maybe you can say the "7 words.." slow enough for me to get 'em all!

He was so funny.....he will surely be missed. :(

In the 70's he was wild and outrageous and funny. We both aged and he was "Mr. Conductor" on Shining Times Station (Thomas the tank engine) the years my kids watched every day. All my life George Carlin was there, I'll miss him.

The end of a legend, for sure, I'll miss his fresh takes on life in this world.

I was just talking about him on the cursing thread! He was one of my all time favorite comedians. He was a comedic genius. I can't believe he is gone!!

Alffe 06-23-2008 08:02 AM

I loved the 7 words you can't say...and the Supreme Court ruled that no, he couldn't say them.

And 71 isn't old! :p

bluenurse 06-23-2008 08:44 AM

He truly was a comedic genius!! I'll always thank him for getting me through my post hysterectomy period. I watched his "seven words" and "stuff" routines for hours on end, and laughed with a pillow splinting my stomach(on a beta tape , remember those?)Laughter is the best medicine!! Thanks George Carlin and may you rest in peace!!
